Re: Trimps

@greensatellite, I cannot buy giga stations anymore. I don't know what happened, but now, when I click on giga station, I see a tooltip at the bottom with like top of tooltip, middle of tooltip, bottom of tooltip, but no make purchase or cancel option like there was before. Also those three sections feel strange, you might want to test with jaws how it renders. Also, next thing I'd like to see improvement is the zone section. All those clickables like portal, maps, world, herlooms, etc. Some of the clickables are not labeled and I'd really like to have access to the repeat options and exit options. Like in the world to say to exit to maps after. Or in the maps to say repeat for any or something. I think Dark managed to use them with NVDA, but I never succeeded with jaws. Thanks for the dedication you put into this!

Re: The Girl Who Sold the World - new and highly immersive audio adveture

This game  looks exciting. Here are few ideas for accessibility. I don't really lik the swipe thing because it gets tedious, but it's not incompatible with what I was thinking. The idea is I'd like to quickly select an action. Now there are mutiple things to consider:I'd place the actions in a grid. If there are typically 4 actions, then a 2x2 grid, if there are 6, a 2x3 or 3x2depending on the game's orientation. If in rare cases there are more choices, then the two bottom grid cell could be a next page and previous page. This needs to be rare though, otherwise this UI would get tedious. If there are fewer actions than the grid capacity, then those should remain silent. There should be a very discrete sound when you switch focus to a new cell in the grid, because it's convenient, but we do not want to be distracted away from the imersion.Ok, now for the actual focus and action selection. If action texts are somewhat short:Hold your finger on the screen, the focus snaps to the grid cell under your finger (either 2x2 or 2x3). The action is immediately read. If you release your finger, the action is selected, if you want to hear another action, move your finger over another grid cell without releasing. If action texts are long:Same thing, but releasing the finger will not select the action, you have to double tap to select the focused action.Obviously you do not change the experience throughout the game, you choose one and you stick to it for consistency. Also, all of the actions could be read automatically at first, meaning that we do not even have to explore with our fingers, we would already know where to click to select a particular action, because we know how the grid is layed out.If the actions are not read automatically, another experience would be to play a discrete sound after the game text is read. This is to avoid waiting asking ourselves if the text was finished reading and we can now inspect actions we can take. The game needs to be smooth and quick to navigate. When you test play it, make sure you go through all the episode and see how tedious the user experience you chose is.Finally, do not break the imersion. This means that I wouldn't want to hear things like "To choose an action, place your finger on the screen, release to select" every game frame. All you need to do to explain the UI mechanics is a very small two frame tutorial which can be out of character and purely technical. In the game, expect people know how to use the UI, otherwise it's just gonna break the imersion which would be very sad.Edit: You can copy this post to another website at will if easier for whatever reason.

I didn't request it, such a coincidence. I did ask a dev key for green satellite mentioning he was working on trimps, perhaps they went ahead to see what it was and they were trapped into this addicting world .Meh I got used to the bouncing, I've got my strategy about it. Since I know the UI, I make quick series of key actions even if I don't hear the feedback immediately, because I know what to expect. I also turn off all logging. And if you really want it not to bounce, just go in the map chamber, there nothing happens and there is no bouncing, you can calmly make purchases.I'm not saying it's ideal, I'm just telling the way I go about it.

Re: Trimps

@Dark, remember when I documented the jaws behaviour to move between headings? Well, with the new update, it finally changed, here's the text you can read on the update website:Improved Heading Navigation When Using the Numbers RowFor years, users have been able to use 1 through 6 on the numbers row to move to specific heading levels on web pages. For instance, 1 for level 1 headings,2 for level 2 headings, 3 for level 3 headings, and so on. However, this type of navigation only allowed you to move to headings equal or lower than thelevel you were trying to move by. For example, if you attempted to move to a level 3 heading, but the very next heading was a level 2, JAWS would announce:"No more headings at level 3 in this section," and would not move past the level 2 heading.Beginning with the April 2019 update, you can now move to any given heading level on a page and if it is under a different higher precedence heading, theimmediately higher precedence heading will be read so you know that the new heading belongs to a different section. For example, if you attempt to moveto a level 3 heading which causes you to jump past a level 2 heading, JAWS will announce the level 2 heading prior to announcing the level 3 heading soyou know you have moved into a new section. You can also choose to have JAWS play a sound to indicate when you move into a new section or you can switchback to the prior behavior which restricted heading navigation to the current section.Source (See april 2019 update): https://support.freedomscientific.com/d … WSWhatsNew

Re: Trimps

@greensatellite, the most tedious thing I do all the time is switching between maps and world. Clicking on the maps clickable is hard because the focus is bouncy there and I often turn auto fight off or go to the portal and whatnot. I found out the M shortcut, but because of the abandon soldiers thing, I cannot deterministically know how many times I have to press M to go from maps to world or world to map. It's very annoying. Are there times where you don't want to abandon your soldiers? Could pressing M always do the same thing? Having a keyboard shortcut is really essential because of the underbalance achievement, there is no way I can be reactive enough to go to maps when my stacks get near 100, because the trimps fight really fast, especially when you one shot ennemies in the world.

Re: Trimps

@drums61999, usually what makes you stall is when you cannot buy Coordination upgrades. You should spend your workers relatively equally between farmers, lumberjacks and miners. Food will give you housing which will give you more workers for more production, it's a feedback loop. If you have to put more workers on one, go for miners, I usually have like 30-30-40%. Prestige your equipment as soon as you can, but then make sure to buy some levels of those equipments, don't leave them at level 1. To quickly rack up metal, just create a mountain map withl oot 9 and difficulty 9. You want to farm the map until you one shot ennemies in there. If you one shot ennemies or if you don't die often, you will loot very fast and in mountain maps, loot is metal. If I pushed too far, I will farm a lower level map, like one level below until I can upgrade my equipment and then farm the map one level abovewhich is same level as current zone. All perks are useful, so make sure to have like at least level 3 on all of them, because it's fairly cheap. Looting perk is really good for farming maps. You can produce metal 5x faster if you loot a mountain map and one shot the ennemies. Another very good perk is the one you got from metal challenge, this helps a lot.Always get some toughness and power, it helps going further faster. And of course, motivation for production speed. Try to buy those perks equally or just calculate the costs, because perks have a 1.3 times increase every time so you're better off buying them when they are low level instead of focusing on one perk. Finally, without spoiling you, you will find upgrades that will help you along the way.

It's by far the semi-passive game I played the longest in my life and I count my sighted days as well. The bone looting is fair and as far as I know it's the only thing we can purchase which doesn't make the game a pay to win, especially since it's not online. In my case, I donated because I really think that game is worth my money just for the weeks I passed playing it. I've spent more money on games I played less so fair is fair. Plus, the bones! And I'm not done playing it, there seems to be a lot of content I yet have to discover

@aaron77 the cursor does bounce a bit with jaws. However, it's much better if you filter all log messages, just put everything to off, perhaps except story. It's still gonna bounce as the text on buttons update, but it's much better. If you wanna buy a lot of stuff, the best way is to stop fighting first, then you will barely bounce. Another thing is that although you bounce, with the tooltips for buttons now you will often bounce on a tooltip, so it didn't happen too many times that I bought the wrong thing, it did happen though. There seems to be an option if you press jaws + F6 to open settings center and search for "refr", there should be an option for refresh where you can say never, every 60 seconds or on demand. I don't knoe exactly the name, because my jaws is in French. Perhaps it can help.Hope it helps

Re: Trimps

@Dark, as greensatellite pointed out, you didn't need to export and re-import. The way the game stores saves is with cookies. Cookies are special biscuits , your browser stores them and when it sees you make a request to a domain, it passes them along the request. since the game is now hosted under trimps.io and since kongregate uses an IFrame with source being also of trimps.io, the save is shared between the screen reader version and the kongregate version. Perhaps you didn't move your files from the old SR site to the new and permanent location?

Re: Trimps

Oh yeah makes sense, domain cookies and IFrame on kongregate.Another thing, I think Dark asked for info to be starting the text of tooltip buttons. I second that, because it makes it quicker to quickly pass the buttons. You just have to hear "In..." and we already know to skip it if we're not looking for tooltips. When you use a screen-reader for al ong time, your brain quickly knows what you're focusing with just a fraction of a second of text being read. Now if all text start the same way, we have to wait for the rest of the text to be read to really know what we focus. Also, there is no table for me on the page. Is it because I have settings collapsed or something?I'll try to go donate on kongregate if I find how, this game really deserves it.Also don't be too critical, I'd say the accessibility is good. It's very good when all of a game features are usable and accessible and it's excellent when the design is thought out for a good screen-reading experience. That's my personal scale anyway. I think there are some game mechanics not accessible right now? I heard about spires, I don't wanna get spoiled so I have no idea of what this is, but I read a post here saying it's not currently accessible. Though I think you unlock that much later in the game and I'm not there yet.

Re: Trimps

@greensatellite, I like the summary, but I'd prefer it was in a table instead of headings, just like the achievements. Since there is no table on the page, we can just jump to it with a single key stroke. We can then navigate quickly tables. Headings makes it slower to read because it announces heading with level every time, unless you navigate with the 6 key, but that's not always the way I do it.Just try it in a table, you'll see if you like it beter for yourself with jaws and NVDA. The table doesn't need to have multiple columns, just a single column with rows.

@Defender, you're right. I got the habbit over time that when I click on something and nothing happens, I go see at the bottom of the page if there's something. It's not how it should be. That being said, once you know that and you take the habbit of it, it's usable, not ideal, but usable at least.

Re: Trimps

@KeithWipf1, you're only getting started, I've been playing for weeks now. As for the map chamber, here's a run-down on how it works:There are two main areas in the game: world and map. When you say you are at zone 7, that's in the world. A world has 100 squares, one ennemy per square. They get more and more difficult in the zone, the last ennemy is the boss and the most powerful one.Maps let you farm or grind to get stronger to go back to fight in the world. This is because you will find eventually that the world is getting very slow to progress. I will not tell you why, I'll let you discover it, but you really should do maps. Heres how:1. Click on maps a bit under the zone heading.2. This will open the map chamber. You can either select maps and run it, you can see the maps you have under Select a Map. But you can create your own maps with fragments. You can see how many fragments you have under science. The map you create is random, but you can influence that randomness with fragments. You will see there is an edit field, this is the level of the map, usually you leave it to the level in there, it's the level matching your current zone. Then you have a slider for loot, this will affect the min and max loot modifier for the map you create. See the min and max value under the slider. When you create a map, the loot modifier of the map will be random between the min and max value. The higher you put the slider, the more you increase the min value of the modifier, making it more likely to have a good loot modifier when you create the map. Then there is a slider for size, if you leave it at 0, the map will have between 25 and 75 squares, but you can make the max go down by increasing the slider. Then there is the difficulty slider, increasing it will make it more likely to create a map where enemies are weaker. Then there is a combo box for the biome. When you kill enemies in map, you will loot resources, if you want to loot a specific resource, you can change it. Seas will give you food, mountain will give you metal, forests for wood and depths for gems. After you have selected your parameters, you can click create which is above the loot slider. It tells you how much fragments it cost and if you have enough a map will be created. Then you can select it and click run map to start farming it. I recommend setting the "repeat on" for the map to start over when you finished it. You will see the repeat option once you've started the map. Also, map gives you items, you can see how many items right before running the map

@greensatellite, there is a display bug. When I'm doing something else and the chrome tab on Trimps is not open and I then move focus back to the game (say from another chrome tab), upgrades will say "not affordable" even if I can buy it (I have enough resources). That bug got me a few times already, after some way too much time waiting I thought "Jee, how much is it to buy that thing, must be so expensive" only to find out I could've bought it a while back. There is another display bug that got me more than once. One time, I was trapping and it said 163k traps. However, turned out I had 0, but the button was displaying 163k traps. When I switched activity, say to mine, the button updated to "Trap 0", which was the correct amount. The opposite did happen, where it said "trap 60" and when I clicked it to trap, it said "Trapping 95k" for instance.I think those two display bugs have the same cause.

I don't like clickables because they are inconsisten sometimes. I don't know what makes this, one answer could be when something is over that clickable, but sometimes I just cannot click clickables and it's very frustrating. Buttons always work. Having tooltips like that helps if your focus is bouncy, because instead of buying something else, you will most likely click a tooltip.

Re: Trimps

@greensatellite, I just tested out the new version. Again, I test with jaws, results may vary with other screen-readers.I have a lot of sparse things to say, I don't know how to structure my post, so I'll go with the sweet stuff and then the things to improve in my opinion.Sweet Stuff:1) Tooltips: they work really well and when I press them it immediately starts reading the tooltip, cost first, wow! It really shows that you understand what's important, because usually cost is at the bottom of tooltips, but now it's read first because it's what we care most.2) Timers above production buttons. I didn't have access to that information before, but now I see how much time it will take for my resource to max out. A great nice little cherry. Speaking of which, I'd like to see my average looting rate in a map, say 3M/sec, a bit like the helium counter, but for resources looted in a map. It would be nice to see that rate go up as you buy equipments and get through a map faster.3) Buttons: it works so much better than previously clickables, especially since I had bugs sometimes that I wasn't able to build.4) Headings, yup it worked, thanks!Improvements:1) I think you forgot a button for trap catching?2) I would put tooltips on a second row. So for equipments, for instance, there would be all 11 equipment buttons, then all 11 toolltips. This way, when you want to compare costs, it's easy because all tooltips are next to each other and when you want to buy stuff, you don't have to skip every other button. Kind of a NIT here and personal preference, I don't know what others think.

Re: Trimps

When you are in the map creation, you can see all your maps under Select a map. What do you mean unlabeled clickables, what do they do?When you run a map, under the auto fight switch, there is a "maps" clickable. It has a number in parentheses, this is how many times you've beaten the map, but it caps at 10. This is to keep track of the bonus you will get on the zone.I don't know if you knew, but say you are at zone 25. If you make a level 25 map and beat it 3 times, you will see "maps (3)". If you go back to the world, you will deal 130% damage on zone 25. This bonus caps to 200%, hence 10 times. You will also see that bonus in the zone heading. When you get to zone 26, you will loose that bonus and will have to beat level 26 maps to get that bonus again.

Re: Trimps

You can use the combo box in the map chambers as an anchor point, just below is to make the map selection, above are the controls to create a map and since the create is up top, I usually go to the combo box and fill sliders from bottom to top and then hit create, then go back to combo box and go down to select the map, it's pretty quick. I recycle maps when I'm done with them so it keeps the list small. Hope that helps.

Re: Trimps

Yeah traps are consumables. You build them and you can use a trap to catch trimps. There is a "Check traps" on the page, if you click it, you will start trapping and this will consume your traps to catch more trimps. You need to catch trimps because when they fight, they die eventually and you need to replace fallen trimps to full population before you can attack again. Note that if you are not trapping, trimps breed to make new trimps on their own, but it's usually slower than trapping.

When it says "Speed miner, 0", it means that you are currently at level 0 of speed mining, basically, that book gives you 25% faster mining and you will get more and more of them and they stack, so the number tells you which level you're at.

If you use jaws, press JAWS + NumPad minus to move jaws cursor to PC. You can also press enter on it sometimes, but it will make you purchase it if available. If you use NVDA, press NVDA + Numpad slash, though for it to work properly you need to be in full-screen. Tooltips will be shown at the end of the page if you use jaws. If you use NVDA, press S to go to the separator of the tooltip then read down. The tooltip contains flavor text, the price is at the end of the tooltip, it lists the price of each resource and in parenthesis, you will see how many of that resource it's gonna cost in percentage or if you don't have enough, it will tell you in how much time you will have enough resource. Note that this only takes into account  production rates, it doesn't take into account loots obviously for instance.

Re: Trimps

With jaws, the quantity modifiers are not buttons and I never really managed to use them unfortunately. However, I can use the custom one because when I click the link, it pops up a box and I can enter the quantity. It's pretty slow to switch modifier though. Also, there is an unlabeled button just to the right of "Combat". What is this button for? I'm a bit scared to press it not knowing what it will do. I know combat is to filter out or not combat logs, so is that unlabeled button to the right of it is another filter? I hope it's not a increase your production by 1000% switch .

Re: Trimps

@Dark, the damage titles are special biscuits. When I scan the page from top to bottom, I get to just before where the damage is written, jaws says "heading level 4", but doesn't read any heading text. Then, when I press down again, I get to read the damage, say "300-40.3k". But I cannot jump to that heading nor is it listed in the heading list view of jaws. Again, the "End of log" title is completely absent when using jaws, it's nowhere to be found. When I press insert + F6 which lists all headings on the page, I see, in order:FoodWoodMetalScienceTrimpsBuildBuildingsJobsUpgradesEquipment0 / 329k (this is my trimps' health)392k / 392k (this is my ennemy's health)Zone 13For the heading thing, it's hard to explain, perhaps you would understand better with the JAWS demo, but I can assure you that if I'm on Food heading, the only number key I can press that would lead me to another heading is 1, which would bring me to wood, because the other headings are not under the Food heading 1 node.To summarize the heading moving behaviour, pressing a number key to move to a heading will work when:1. If that key is higher or equal level to current heading level, focus will move to next heading of that key value.2. If that key is strictly lower than the current heading level focus will move to next heading with that level if and only if that heading is a direct child of current heading.Note: I know it can be confusing, but higher here means that the heading level is lower, thus h1 is higher than h2. I chose this convention, because the heading structure is really represented by a tree for jaws and h1 is always gonna be higher in the tree.By direct child of current node, I mean that if you were to build a tree representing headings of the page, then direct child would be all nodes immediately under current node. To be clear, here are two examples:h1: Countriesh2: Canadah3: Quebech2: United KingdomIn that example, direct children of Countries would be Canada and United Kinngdom. This means that if my focus is on Countries, pressing 3 will not bring me to Quebec. You might think this is silly, but in standard web pages, it works pretty nicely, it ensures you stay in the same section. However, you can trick the tree building engine with incoherent layouts, imagine that second example just for fun:h1: Countriesh4: Canadah3: United Kingdomh2: BrazilIn that particular example, the direct children of Countries are Canada, United Kingdom and Brazil, meaning I can jump from countries to all 3 countries in that list by pressing the corresponding number key. This is just because the tree creation was tricked, because a higher heading cannot be a child of a lower heading. In addition, I can jump from any heading to any heading with number keys, because from any heading except Countries, you fall in condition 1 above, not condition 2.Ok, I hope it was clear enough. I rewrote that post like 3 times, makes me practice my popularization not sure about the translation of that word.

Re: Trimps

@Dark, I already explained in a previous post why you can't just navigate by heading levels with jaws. I do navigate with H, but it's not that it bounces while I do that, actually it goes pretty well, it's just that the "end of log" title doesn't seem to exist for jaws. I can only see that heading with NVDA. What seems to bounce my focus is the log updating itself, though I admit it's kind of weird.

Re: Trimps

Ok, I played the game quite a bit now. I love it and it's very playable, but here are some things I noticed / ideas.First off, I play with jaws, it seems to play better with NVDA, I guess it's because greensatellite is testing with it or because NVDA works better in chrome or because they use the virtual cursor to navigate DOM differently and it turns out that NVDA manages it better, I don't know.So the log updates tends to make my focus shiver. It happened to me more than once that say I wanted to buy the dagger, but the log updated and my focus moved on the shield and I bought the shield. Another thing that makes my focus move is the text update on the buttons. Say I buy the dagger, and now I can't buy another one, the text on the button changes to not affordable and it usually makes my focus go back to the shield. When there is a lot of logging, my focus is getting really crazy. However, this only happens to the DOM after the log itself, since it's the log that is updating. If I'm above the log, say in the wood or science section, no problem at all. This is why I'd preferred the log to be at the bottom of the page so I could just go to the end of the page and go up to read it. What do you think guys?Another issue is that I noticed with NVDA there is a "End of log" heading, but jaws doesn't detect that heading. it jumps straight from "Trimps" to "Build", weird! I don't know what could be causing this, I didn't look at the source, is there something different with that heading compared to the other ones? Is it hidden? Also, it happens sometimes that I cannot click some clickable elements. Never happened with buttons, but it happens with the "Build" heading and the "world" or "maps". It doesn't happen all the time, sometimes I press enter multiple times and it works, but some other times it just will never work, I have to launch NVDA and go click it. Part of the issue is probably caused by the tooltip being over some element I want to click. I still can access with jaws the text behind the tooltip, but sometimes the interaction with those hidden elements get messed up.The achieves screen works great, but there is something bothering me. When I'm on a cell in the grid, it tells me the progress of the not completed achievement in that row, even if I'm on a completed achievement cell. Don't know if it's a bug, but I'd prefer to read the progress of the achievement I'm focusing, not the progress of another achievement on that row. For instance, I'd like it to read "Completed, clear 30 total zones" and if I move right "Not completed, 35/70, clear 70 total zones". Currently, it would read something like "Completed, 35/70, Clear 30 total zones". It's just an example to illustrate what I mean, I don't want the text to be exactly what I wrote, I like the way it's reading tiers and everything, it's just to show what I mean. Because, I don't know what happens if there are multiple not completed achievements on the row, which progress will it read out to me?Oh and if people are wondering why I'm not using NVDA, I'm more used to jaws and I didn't find cool voices for NVDA and I don't know all the nifty tricks to be fast with NVDA, but that is a whole different debate. @greensatellite, just so you know, it's not rare to see flame wars between screen-readers, some say one is better than another and it's like a war of cults, the cult of NVDA and the cult of jaws. Some people use both, some people don't care, some people use other screen readers, etc. It's just like people argue over Android versus iOS and Windows versus MAC versus Linux.Anyways, that is all for me... for now.

Re: Trimps

@greensatellite, I agree a third page is the way to go. I didn't know you already had a pipeline and tools for maintaining those. Yes, with jaws, you can press shift + number to go back. But don't worry, there is a lot of tricks we have up our sleeves. For instance, I can put words in a wordlist and navigate from word to word by pressing W. I can also make a clever search and cycle through results with F3. It's possible to write scripts and assign them to hotkeys to do application or website specific actions. I can also create custom place markers on the page and cycle through them. So there is a lot we can do to cope with a lot of pages to navigate quickly.Again, thanks for your efforts, looking forward to the new interface.

Interesting, it would make more sense to me that pressing a number would bring you to any heading of that level regardless of the structure, because that way you have as many easilly accessible anchors on a web page as there are heading levels, but it seems jaws took the route of preserving the structure and layout of a page for users to explore than using headings as shortcuts.

Re: Trimps

I'd like to clarify one thing however. I don't know if all screen readers behave like that, but I am using JAWS. When you navigate between headings, it forces a hierarchical navigation. It's hard to explain it in text, so here is an example:Suppose I have a web page with headings like that from top to bottom: h1, h2, h2, h3, h3, h1. Now imagine this scenario:I am on the top of the page (above h1). You might think I can press 2 to go to h2, but I can't, because h2 is under h1. It's a hierarchy, so I need first to press 1 to go to h1, then 2 to go to h2 under h1.Now say I'm at h2 and I press 1, I will skip all the next headings and go to the next h1 heading, which is the last heading of the page. This works because h1 is higher in the hierarchy than h2, it means I wanna skip this section and go read another section. Now say I'm still at the first h2. I cannot press 3, for the same reason I couldn't press 2 from top of the page, h3 is under the second h2, so I need to press 2, then 3 to access the first h3.This is to avoid the case where you have h1, h2, h1, h2. Suppose I'm at the first h1, I press 2, I'll go to the first h2, then if I press 2 and it would bring me to the other h2, it means I skipped the whole h1 section in between, but there would be no way for me to notice that if the screen reader didn't prevent me to do that. Instead, it's gonna say "No more headings 2 in this section".I hope those examples are clear, basically you can go to next headings that are higher in the hierarchy or you can move to next headings that are under this heading or a sibling heading. Now I don't know if it's only JAWS, people can try it with NVDA to see how it works. The way I usually go about web pages depends. If I'm looking for something precise and I don't know the website, I'll do a search (Ctrl + F) and guess what I'm looking for. If I plan to come back often on the page, I will start by listing all headings on the page (JAWS + F6) and look at all the headings. Then I will explore the page under headings that interest me, I'll keep an eye out for form fields, links, words, everything that can make me go fast to desired locations.I think most screen readers can navigate by regions, it's R for JAWs, you jump from a region to another. I didn't have time to try the game yet, but if there is a log, there needs to be a way to quickly read the last thing in the log, it could be at the bottom of the page for instance, we can press Ctrl + End to jump to the bottom of the page and if we could end up on the last line (the most recent one) directly, it could be nice I think.I wanna finish by saying that it's so cool of you to do that. However, having a second UI means that with updates to the game, you need to propagate that update to that second UI if required, we wouldn't want to be missing features others have because we use another UI. Note that it's often possible to add markings on the page without sighted users to notice with CSS. You can put a h1 heading look like normal text if you want with a CSS class. You can have buttons that look like normal text if you apply them a invisible style, etc, you get what I mean.Well, thank you so much, hope I gave you useful information, looking forward to try that game!

I say this because I saw another post regarding this issue. Out of Sight Games recommend putting that folder Under documents, but I don't like to put stuff there because it is a low capacity SSD drive, so I prefer to put it on my larger drive and although the permission issues will probably happen again next time I'll update, the fix is not very long to do.

It's probably a problem with some rsync command line parameters. I found a way to overwrite the permission changes made by rsync on updated files, if you are on Windows 10:1) right-click on the folder containing the game (aka the exe file).2) Go to security tab3) In the list of roles, select the Authenticated Users (the first in the list for me)4) tab to the Advanced button and activate it.5) Check the checkbox that says Something like "Replace all child entries with current folder permissions" or Something.6) Press Ok, a prompt will ask you if you really want to do this, say Yes.Voilà, sorry my labels are approximative translations as my Windows is in French. Don't know if it will be useful for someone but here it is.
