Humanware found it unnecessary apparently as the hardware synth era was at a so-called end, so they removed it from the Apex for that reason. Blindncool, no keynote in the touch.

I don't know what model usb serial adapter is distributed with the apex. Meanwhile, I found one on Amazon for about 7 bucks, as long as its plug-n-play it should work.

The addon doesn't support changing any settings such as rate, pitch, and inflection. You can change the rate and pitch on the braillenote itself, or if you want to change them in a wider range, or change other keynote gold voice settings, you can send

Hi.An extra step would be to not only have a BrailleNote Classic or BrailleNote mPower, but you'd also need a cable with serial on one end and USB on the other. You'd have to go to Remote Synthesizer on these devices in order to interface

Jake modified the Doubletalk Lt addon to interface to Keynote Gold, but it's not officially available yet, probably because the implementation is a little buggy.
