3 kingdoms mud help needed

Hi,so, I started playing the mud 3 kingdoms a while ago and really like it, especially because of the areas they have there which all are quite different.But Im already stuck in the newbie quests and hope someone who played or still plays the game can help me here.spoilers ahead!spoilerSo, Im trying to do Ralintaros tower. I found the pen and traced the symbol so the spectre of Ralintaro appeared, but I dont know what to do now. This thing is way to powerfull to simply kill, so I think Im missing something here.spoilerendSo, any help would be much appreciated. I have the feeling I wont get along in this game very wel if I cant even solve the newbbie quests, so I really want to get it. And Im feeling kind of stupid also. Anyway, sorry for the kind of ranting post and I hope someone can help.

The two games split off from each other in 2009. 3K has a lot of guilds that 3S doesnt, such as Cyborg, psicorps, Bladesinger and the core guilds. 3S has one guild that 3K doesnt, Warder. 3K has also recoded a lot of its guilds recently and has many more wizards, whereas 3S mainly just has a couple wizards.3S has some quests and skillquests that 3K doesnt. Also, on 3K, you are allowed to have up to 4 additional characters, excluding those you buy with the xchar vaf perk. The requirements for those characters are in help seconds, I believe. On 3S, you can have as many characters as you want, provided you get each character to level 50.Of course, the new major changes, such as freely available quest info, newbie gear at login and the other recent rules updates, do not apply to 3S, though a lot of the quest info carries over to the other game from 3K.These are just a few of the differences.

Hi, thanks for bringing 3 Kingdoms up. I havent played it, but Im really itching to once I have some more time. I have a question, though. 3 Kingdoms has a sister game called 3Scapes. Does anyone know the differences between the two? I mean, why would one play one game over the other? If someone knows the similarities and differences between the two games, please tell! As of today, you now start with some basic gear at login. It isnt anything special, but its something. You can still drop link and keep your equipment, but now if you log out and back in at any time, you start with some basic newbie gear. You can also use the gearup command to acquire said gear at any time, for example if you lose your equipment upon death.Most of this info can be found from announcement 802 onward, so aread 802, aread 803, etc. I think theyre in the process of updating the helpfiles. The quest helpfile has been updated, and I dont know if newbieland has a helpfile itself or not, or if theyve disabled the level 5 warning. A lot of people Ive seen sign up lately just use the jump start machine now, since starting from level 1 is basically pointless now that you can access newbieland up to level 50.Also, a few things I should have mensioned early on.Autohp will remove the automatic HP display every round of co
 mbat, if you dont like that.There are histories for pretty much every channel. For any chatline, such as flapchat or your guild channel, its channel, then a hyphen, then an h. So for the newbie channel, itd be newb -h to see the history. For tells, says, shouts and other things, its usually the word and then hist. I think Im up for trying this game again. Im glad that quest info is fair game now. Im curious, are the mirror fragements scattered all around Newbieland, or are some in the city and others are in the newbie areas with the portal?But yeah, I need to look at the guilds again to see which guild I wanted to join, but I did have a guild of choice.

Hi,well, it may be that there are classes which dont need the equipment so much, but this limits me in what I can do.Besides, I find it just annoying to have spent ages to find some cool piece of armour, only to lose it again when I have to quit for the day. And if I get an item for completing a difficult quest I end up losing it too. Thats not what I want.Best regardsTikki

Generally the only reward for quests is quest points, and now you get some experience. I havent seen a quest that gives an item, precisely for that reason. As for the non-equipment classes being limited, they can still earn gear and sell it on auction, and they can easily compete with the gear-based classes. You can also drop link instead of quitting for up to 24 hours, and keep all your equipment on you, at least until reboot.

Reboots are anywhere from 4 to 7 days. The current boot is up for 4.2 more days. The equipment thing bothered me at first, but with guilds that can do everything every other guild can do without gear, and players constantly either putting gear up on auction or donating it to guild storage bins, not to mension the fact that buying a full set of decent gear from the smithy just south of town square only costs a couple thousand gold, gear is pretty easy to have on you if you want it. They also opened newbieland up to anyone below level 50 instead of level 5 now, so even the newbie gear is easy to get again, though some things have power requirements on them that if youre too high level, you cant use them.

So this mud has been discussed a bit on here, but I wanted to make an official topic for it. I started getting back into it recently, and though its very slow, its actually quite fun.3 kingdoms is a mud that combines 3 different dimensions into one atmosphere. Science, fantasy, and chaos. Its a little like 4 dimensions in that regard, but much more advanced. Fantasy is basically medieval stuff: magic users, dragons, castles. Science is everything from futuristic space stations to Jedi to cyborgs. Chaos is, well, chaos. Everything from shapeshifters, to fisher price playhouses, to death tacos, to Barney. Figure that one out, haha.The guilds are along the same lines. There are 18 different guilds, most of which I have not played because of the speed of gameplay. However, all the guilds seem to be fairly advanced. Im currently playing a cyborg, which has a rather incredible system of implants for its guild powers. Instead of taking up equip
 ment slots or being simple stat boosters, implants are installed in many different body locations and can be anything from stat boosting exo-arms, to built in weaponry like incendiary cannons or hand razors, to utilitarian implants like finger lights and retractible dive fins. All of this is carefully balanced by a system of power implants that you can install, power storage implants like battery packs and power regeneration systems like solar cells and flywheels. Eventually youll get the power grid, which gives you much more freedom with your power implants. Anyway, there are many other guilds, such as angel, fremen (yes, the ones from Dune,) Jedi (of course everyone knows where theyre from,) changelings, priests, bards, any other common and not so common staples of mudding life. There are even 3 basic guilds, called temp guilds, to help new players get started. These guilds are much more lax, can be joined without needing to be recruited by another player, and advance 
 more quickly than any other guild on the game, but they have a hard cap at level 60 and thus will never be as powerful as a full-featured guild. I tried fighter and found it to be very powerful, though quite boring, but I can see where it would definitely be useful for newbies.There are other ways to customize your character, above and beyond that offered by guilds. Guilds generally have many ways to customize your character anyway, such as choosing your implants as a cyborg and switching between them when you want to, choosing which powers you want as a psicorps and switching between them, developing your skill tree as a bladesinger, etc. However, there are also crafting professions to be joined, 3 crafting and 3 gathering. There are many professions as well to help you customize further, that provide skill, attribute and other statistic boosts, and sometimes special abilities. You get 2 minor professions, 2 specialization professions and 1 major profession. Theres als
 o a guild that can be joined at level 90 called the ascended, which is in addition to your normal guild, and with perks, you can even combine the benefits of two different guilds together at some point, though Im not sure exactly how this works yet. As you can see though, theres a ton of room for customization.Important to note is that there was just some major policy updating. Quest info is now free and clear to be discussed with whoever yo uwant to, though the wizards still ask that if someone doesnt want any quest info, that you respect their wishes. Theres also been some newbie updates that I dont think are quite in yet, such as starting the game with a set of gear and picking one of the temp guilds at login instead of at level 5. Theres even some talk about letting mid level players summon this gear to them with a command. You can read more about this by typing aread 802 in the game.This mud has a rather unique playstyle in that
  you do not keep your gear, either when you log out or when the mud reboots, which happens every few days. This keeps the game competitive so that unique items are not hoarded and some people just like to play that way. Its not something Im crazy about, but theres ways to work around it and plenty of ways to acquire gear every time you log in. At level 30 and for quite a bit of gold, you can also buy a house that will let you store your gear until the mud reboots. Guilds all have a donation system as well, so if you join a guild with a good playerbase there will usually be something in the donation containers.I know this post was a little random, but hopefully Ill see some of you playing there. This mud is paced very slowly, so dont expect to get powerful quickly. Hello, I cant seem to register a new character.When I start the mud there is no command on how to create a new character. I looked at the website of the mud and it written, to create a character I just have to enter a name. But when I do that it just says something like @No record found for the name xxx@Can somebody help me with that problem? I really want to play that mud.

Hi,I played on there a hile ago.Yes, the guilds and quests are really great. But what really puts me off is the equipment which is not saved. Honestly, when I log in to play, I dont want to spend half an hour every single time to get my equipment back first! Besides, especially after a reboot you either get there first to get the best stuff or you basically lost. There are classes that dont need any gear, like monks and elementals. As for getting the best stuff, there really isnt any. Theres so many items now that usually everyone gets something despite the large playerbase, and things are sold on auction quite often. Gold can be a little hard to build up, and guild power, but really the gear isnt as big of a deal as it seems. That was my main problem with the game at first, but Ive found that its not that bad, especially with people donating to the guilds often and helpful players.

I dont mud anymore, so dont expect to see me.But:I dare those of you who think all muds are easy or more of the same to try mage. It is notable that Mage is completely accessible, that I am possibly the first blind player to have ever done it (proving all the people who said there was no way a blind person can wrong), and that its unique. You will possibly (probably?) need a bit of mud scripting--youll want hotkeys to track some of the mage-specific stats. But its the most unique mages Ive seen, and who doesnt like their armies of summoned creatures?
