The demo doesn't let you use all cars, and you don't get to play the later levels when you finish first.So anyway I have a blast with this game, even though it's very hectic when you're playing in the grand pre modes (then again if I understand correctly, mainstream cart racers are just as intense). There is a few problems I want to report (no clue if the developer reads this forum, I know he has an account here so I'll try anyway)First, I was able to crash the game multiple times when using SAPI and espeak. No idea if it's just that particular voice, but if there are a lot of sounds playing, speech would start to stutter and crackle (all it takes for that to happen is pitting for example). However, if even more sounds play, the game just crashes completely (usually it happened for me when I got hit by something while playing one of the battle grand pre modes). Using NVDA doesn't seem to have this issue. Haven't tried with the pre-recorded speech.Lastly, I wasn't able to get multiplayer to work. I have tried with at least 3 people with different setups and countries (though we were all in Europe) and we got slightly different results every time. Just once, we somehow managed to get the game to start, it was then very sloan eventually crashed. At other times, the person starting the game would get .net exceptions after picking a car, after which things would again crash. In another case, I would pick a mode, car and track, the race would start on my end but not on the other person, then the race would immediately end with my victory, and in one other case right after starting the game and getting the mode selection menu, I would get a message that the partner disconnected. We also tried to play a LAN game using a hamachi network, but we couldn't see each other.I don't know why this is happening - maybe we have really high pings to the central server and the game doesn't wai t as long, maybe it's something else. In any case I'm seriously thinking of buying this game, though I'm not sure if I will if multiplayer stays this broken. The gameplay itself is really good. Well.for those that have not done so can they redownload the game?I just got a reply from the dev and the files are fixed for audio.In terms of the crappy voices and such while he does have better stuff he has issues licencing it for public use.So I guess I will have to let him off the hook.As for piano sounds, they are just tones, they sound a bit arcadeish but even so there are worse tone sfx and some tones are just generated beeps anyway.The only reason I complained about the sound and audio speech was that it was exceptionally bad its been fixed now and for now thats good enough.It took 2 days for a responce, I sent my responce the day before yesterday, I got a responce today which means yesterday the issue was fixed and the game was reuploaded which to be honest is quite a fast turn around.So I think I will cut this dev some slack with his crappy sounds and such.The game content is fine as it is, and we shouldn't quib ble over sfx quality to enjoy a game it would be better if it was better but if that was the only real issue as well as getting used to the game concepts then we have nothing to realy complain to much about. Hi.Well, I do have a few gripes.This happens in all the games pcyam has, there is no need to have announcements for everything with some sort of gap in them as if each is loading you wouldn't speak normally.I have also reported to them just now a crash while setting volume for their voices and music, its to loud on startup and well.I also hate to say that for the price I payed for it yeah confusing not necessarily a bad thing just will take longer to master.The voice quality of the audio is um crap! bits break off and a lot of other things.Also sapi is where the screenreaders are stored.I think I would set the game for sapi or screen reader mode as the audio files really suck which is a shame since I downloaded the audio files for a more inclusive game experience.People complained about the voices in basball and football but while they are still not as good as human speech I have heard them before.My only suspician was tha t the racing audio voice was trying to emulate an old computer of some description but doing a real bad job of it.Its not a show stopper but I do wander about this stuff.I started with this as some sort of trade for some other stuff I had but got it later on.The games are in the top of their price range the racing game is average, but the other 2 are nearing the 50 dollar mark which is around 70 dollars new zealand, granted these have sighted images in them but even so, I expected better audio from these.I am not sure exactly what things were supposed to be emulated and it differs from the norm a lot which to be honest is refreshing from the standard games as a lot of mainstream games can be quite confusing to play and frustrait my friends to the point I have heard them swearing at their computers so are on par.I am not sure how to access the audio to modify it though and I have asked it be looked at either modding for us users ior stuff be fixed. I know the stuff is translated from japanese I think the guys that develop it are japanese which is their ownly saving grace for me not going at them for making crappy quality files.Even so I'd have throught this would have been reported by now.I plan to report the last issuee after they fix the other 3.I'd also like to skip and or stop a tutorial or anouncement while its going and have a way to repeat stuff.When I have some time over the summer I need to sit down and play with the pcyam stuff.The sad point is that they got it right with their shooting but I have never got it sorted with their sword game it always wants to start tutorial no matter what you click.I did make it to a reasonable level in shoot but even then.
