Re: BatMud Be sure and read on bat.org because you'll get a lot of info about backgrounds, races, and classes before you go into character creation.Get an idea or two about what kind of character you want, before you log in on the Mud.Now when you log onto the mud, do the following.Type "3" to create a character.Choose a name.Type a password. It will ask you to do this twice.Decide whether you want color on or off.You will be on the background screen.What you need to do here is type the first letter of the background you choose.It has this letter in parentheses, so civililized will look like (c)ivilized. Good religious will look like (g)ood_religious.Depending on the background you chose, you may be limited in the race you can choose.The next screen gives you the chance to learn about the races and select one.R to list the races available to you.I (race name) for info about the race.S racename to select a race.B back to beginning if you don't like your options.The race list is not very clear, because you can't tell which are best suited for your chosen background.I think the race at the first of each line is one of the best suited for the background you chose, but I'm not 100% sure.Once you choose a race, you are on the alignment screen.It's much the same, the letter for your choice is in parentheses.So make a choice between good, neutral, evil, or help about the alignments.At any point in the character creation process, you always have the choice to type "b" and go back to the beginning if you don't like what you created thus far.Finally, choose your gender.There are a few questions you can choose to answer or not.Which country you are fromWhere you heard about the MudEMail addressJust hit enter, or choose the option that says you prefer not to say if you don't want to answer these.Now you are at the start of the tutorial, and it should be self-explanatory from then on.If you need any more help, don't hesitate to ask. Re: BatMud When you see a new mud topic, always assume there's no soundpack if it's not advertised on the first post. ugh, the one thing I get annoyed about this game is how cities are laid out (and the fact they're huge). That and it seems newbie equipment is off some powerful mobs to not suck at fighting stuff meant for your level.
