I'm very sorry for the bugs all around the gameplay. This is completely my fault. It proves that the testing of our development team was not enough.It's natural that everyone complains about the bugs or the game's stability, and I understand the point that someone doesn't want to pay for such a bugged services. I'm fixing the bugs now, and it's getting better. If you don't want bugged translations, please wait until everyone says the stability and playability are enough. I will never abandon the project.Version 1.63 will soon be available. I'll remake the full installer for 1.63 so that anyone who has problems updating the game can apply the changes easily.

I am glad to hear that a new installer will come out soon.There is a very good reason for this.I experimented with a fresh copy of BK3 just for update testing purposes.When I ran the 1.40 Version for the first time, I was asked if I wanted to update to Version 1.62 directly with no steps between.However I was able to manually copy the bkup.exe and look into ist Contents.This file only has the updated Play.exe.However the bkup.exe posted in this Topic on dropbox also contains a modified maps Folder, because it is patch 1.60.But if I Launch an 1.40 Version and directly update to Version 1.62, this means that no updates to the maps Folder a made, even if the 1.60 patch expliciedly contain a modified map Folder.I hope that a full installer will solve this Problem for the foreseable future.

I got the Translation myself now.I would like to tell you all some things:1. the Version 1.62 update can be downloaded even if you don't have the Translation addon.Apparently the update can't be installed if the Translation is present.2. The dropbox link in the mentioned post 17 links to the patch to Version 1.60!This is not Version 1.62, at least according to history.txt.Thus you can't use it for a Manual update to Version 1.62.3. For the Moment I can also confirm some game breaking bugs and other smaller issues for when the Translation is in place:- using strateghy items might cause a game Crash with error 7.- Atempting to store or take out items in the item warehouse causes another Crash with error 7.- The descriptions of some weapons is in the wrong order, meaning that the Name of a weapon is spoken correctly, but the description is not the right one.I currently don't have efull examples, but
  I think some weapon got wrongly described with the attributes of one of the needle launchers, allthough the weapon in question was not the said needle launcher.Attention!Switching back to Japanese won't fix the game crashes!If you update to Version 1.62 without placing the Translation file into the game Folder, you won't get many Errors for common things like using items or going into the warehouse.

@post 2 I'd like to respectfully disagree with what you said. A shitload of development time has went into BK3, and even more to the translation project. The fact the game was, or still is to an extent, free for all this time is very impressive. Even now the fact that you can  basically name your own price for the translation is surprising, because if you pay the minimum $5 price you're getting a game that's 1/5 of the price of something like the gate, but has way more content and replay value. Honestly, I think it's fair for Yukio to ask for any compensation after writing over 5 lines of code, then also spending time to playtest, and make sounds and music.This is wonderful news! I will be definitely making a donation very soon!

I considered making them donationware and set up the donation form, but i couldn't do that because PayPal prohibited setting up it. In this case, it isn't paypal's fault since the Japanese law prohibits it.By the way, BK3 V2.0 will be a shareware. How would you think if I set up a kind of discount for those who had bought the translation? For example, BK3 V2 is $15.00(About 1800 JPY). Anyone who have bought the translation previously can buy the license for $10.00, subtracting the translation price.

Reading your offensive comments and all of these with wishing it totally for free is just... not fair, really.There's a game full of replayability, with fantastic content and it's something just great and ambitious comparing to other audio games and you are just throwing that kind of things at Yukio?Reading it is so painfull and it's making me sad. It's not like the dev is stopping people from being able to use NVDA instant translation/clipboard crap... Might just get this because of how addicted to bk2 I was. I wonder how many of the bitchin people have played real games outside of audiogames specifically???  if you had it shouldn't be to much to ask for $5. I mean I get it if you can't afford it, pirating it or whatever, but really guys, it's not that much to ask for a $5 shareware for the translation files. At Burak: If no one else does, I can probably buy it for you as well?I think most of the BK sounds come from 4 primary sources, that I've recognized so far:- the sound pack that Yukio posted shortly after BK1.- The 9gb collection of sounds that was floating around at some point.- Creative Commons sounds (I recognized some by Mike Coenig, at least).- I think he mentioned a Japanese commercial sound SFX library at one point.So, other than some possible ambiguity in that 9GB pack, most all of these are legal for commercial use.

I've encountered a translation error that makes the stealth levels kind of difficult. The directions cameras and security carts are facing aren't read. The sections that aren't translated are still rendered as questionmarks, so it just looks like the left and right direction names aren't translated.Also for some reason when you hit s when a shield is equipped, it splits the string into 4 dialogs, for example mine says "defend (new dialog) master (new dialog)mega (new dialog)plus残り耐久力:20"

i can second the crashing when you use a strategy item here after using the translation dictionary. also, now that i'm using the dictionary, the game seems to lag more now. it is most noticeable when holding down firing keys in stages similar to 16.1 and sky racer stages like 18.2.also, if i wanted to revert back to completely Japanese language, how would i do that? just move the dictionary file to another folder?

And here we go again with the complaining just because the game is paid, or that the translation costs money. *sigh* and this is exactly why I'm a little out of it as far as games go, I'm all in now but all I see when a new release comes out and it's paid is a huge drama-fest, and, with all due respect, makes the criers look spoiled. To be completely honest, when I first tried bk 2, I was extremely, but pleasantly, surprised that that game! of all the games we've seen, was free. Hours uppon hours, months, a year maybe, of work going into the development of that game, and let's not forget I do believe the music or sounds were hand-made by Ukio himself, and while if it's not bgt I don't know the dev tools he used, those Japanese development tools are mostly not free, and very much obscure to most western gamers/developers hence why the English market doesn't seen many games of this type/quality, whether it be free or paid.  orget, mainstream games, minimum price for those is $25/30, in deed the digital gaming market is seeing a fair few $15ers out there mostly the pc ones, console games are expensive, and even those aren't always the best quality out there. Then again those are companies who are born to corporate anything and can put millions into game development. So folks, let's get back to reality and take a good look at it. Is he asking too much for you, to pay $15, for a game that beats the quality of even mainstream games in both game mechanics/sound quality which not many games do, a game that has been worked on for possi

Absolutely not. In fact I wouldn't even be disappointed if he asked more for it, so be glad it's only $15. This kind of entitlement to games for free attitude, no offense, no offense, makes this decade of audio games cringe-worthy. I have nothing personal against anyone in this community, however this has been a trend over the years, when a dev, whether well-known or new, puts a game out for us that's paid, the first thing that happens is that people start blowin smoke up their ass just because! the game is paid. Granted some of the reasons for price overage are, if not fully approving, at least valid, for example a game that totally owns as far as quality but has repetitive game mechanics, yeah I understand, though remember that profes
 sional voice acting and sound design doesn't go for dirt cheep, so compensation does need to be made. But this game? People start complaining about this, bk3, becoming shareware? Now if we back up a little and it was just the translation, nothing more, that was $5, then sure I may not fully approve, but I wouldn't slam him for it either. But remember, the cost for translation is in preparation for the cost of version 2.0! And as many people have said, there are ways around paying for the translation. Use nvda's instant translate, with an automatic clipboard reader such as clipreader or clipboard2sapi, although I personally don't prefer the ladder. Use that if the game has English menus but Japanese game text. But considering Ukio is considering a generous discount for translation buyers, think o

At nuno69: If I had enough money to buy it for everyone, I'd've bought The Gate by now. ... Or maybe just spent the money to hire someone to force me to finish my own games. Sorry if I totally break this, but HTH to those having issues with update. Renaming the file and updating worked fine. Also, you'll need to switch your reader in preferences to NVDA/jaws, or use that auto clipboard reader file. Okay problem, I renamed bkup.exe to updater and replaced the updater file, it still won't update and I don't see any folder named dict to rename in the bk directory.Although something new does happen instead of getting an error message the game closes every time I try and update.

I understand your point, but translation is much harder than just creating games. I considered making them donationware and set up the donation form, but i couldn't do that because PayPal prohibited setting up it. In this case, it isn't paypal's fault since the Japanese law prohibits it.

It's not like the dev is stopping people from being able to use NVDA instant translation/clipboard crap... Might just get this because of how addicted to bk2 I was. I wonder how many of the bitchin people have played real games outside of audiogames specifically???  if you had it shouldn't be to much to ask for $5.

Alrighty. Just to clarify, the dic file is the dictionary you get when you buy the translation. All I did was download the dictionary, and place it in the root folder of the game (its literally just 1 file.) Rename it to dic2 or something like that, then run play.exe and update. Then after its updated just rename back to the default. It worked for me, so yeah. Did you try downloading the bk update file from post 17, then replacing the preexisting update file? I did it last night though, so maybe somethings changed since then. and the only 2 files you get is the dictionary file and readme.
