@16 there isn't much available publicly other than following the unreal release notes, their initial release is as an experimental feature in the current preview build. You could try hitting up @superpig on twitter, he let the work on the initial prototype of Unity's support.

Ian, How can i follow unity and unreal's progress on screen readers?By the way, I can't seem to beat event 3 in this game. the rival's car is just faster than me, i think it's because i still don't kow how to launch properly and tuning is not accessible.

Re: Forza Street released for iOS, possible accessibility requests?

The msftenable account doesn't relate to games. Try contacting @brannonz on twitter instead, he works directly with the game development teams. But yep as always voiceover support generally isn't something you can just add unless your game was developed natively rather than using an engine (engine = pre-built code scaffolding that takes care of the heavy lifting of game development, including how to get visuals onto the screen), and most games are made using engines. If a game is partially accessible it's often not to hard to improve on that but if there's literally zero that's a good sign that it was built using an engine that doesn't support screenreaders. On the plus side that'll become less of an issue. The most popular two engines, Unity and Unreal, are currently working on screenreader support. CVAA is one of the reasons, so you can thank the US government (both dems and reps) and the FCC for that.

This is a very fun game on windows 10 to spend some time on to collect cars. However it  has some issues.Things that are accessible:The gameplay, reading story and tips. adjusting difficultyThings that are not accessible:Selecting your car to go to events. selecting events is a little bit weird.. tuning your car.

Re: Forza Street released for iOS, possible accessibility requests?

Sorry for triple posting. So, after solving some problems and getting the game to work I can say that the game is kind of playable on pc.You can go threw the story dialogs  with NVDA's OCR function. However, I think you'll have to navigate the menus with your mouse. I completed the intro race, got a new car wich will be delivered in 24 hours and now I'm stuck. If anyone wants to try this out on pc the controls are:Space for the gass pedal and enter for the boost.

well, if a few people contacted them here, maybe some on appleVis, and some that don't go in those major groups, it still isn't going to be an overnight thing like some of you are hoping for. Thats a lot of code everywhere, and lets not forget what they'll ave to do for holding down the gas, and having to tap places on the screen for things. If it ever does happen i'd love to see it.

Re: Forza Street released for iOS, possible accessibility requests?

Hi.I managed to complete some more races with some sort of muscle car, at leased it sounds like that. That tripple beep I talked about yesturday really seams to be some kind of nitro boost, I don't know though if it signals that the boost is ready to be initiated or that the boost is filled up to full capacity. The controls of the game are also pritty straight forward. If you put your device on a table in front of you with the home button to the left, you have the gass pedal in the bottom right corner of the screen, you hold down the gas to pick up speed, shifting and clutch operation work automatically. In the bottom left corner you have your nitro button, you hit that ones to give yourself a speedboost, I suppose by cornering and speeding up your nitro boost replenishes. As I said, turning happens automatically, just let go of the gass if you are in a curve.Greetings Moritz.

Forza Street released for iOS, possible accessibility requests?

2019-12-27 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — General Game Discussion : simba via Audiogames-reflector

Forza Street released for iOS, possible accessibility requests?

Hey and good morning. Before I finally hop off into bed i just wanted to get this out on the forum and possibly achieve something with this.As some of you might already picked up, Forza street was released on iOS about two months ago.For those who don't know, Forza Street is a racing game in the Forza series. The twist though is that the steering of the cars is automatic, you as the player have to hit the gass, break and activate nitro boosts to pick up more speed. This all next to upgrading your vehicles, taking part and hopefully win events and buy new rides.currently, the game is not accessible, or let's say, accessible to a small part. When you drive up to a curve you have a sort of fizzling and wably sound that gets faster when you approach a bend. When the sound stops and you release the gas, the car turns automatically and you hear the tire screetching when that stops, the bend is over and you can hit the gas again. There is another sound as well, sounding a bit like a scy fy scanner, I suppose that could be the nitro boost reaching max value, but I'm not sure about that yet.Sadly, that's it with the accidental sound cues, the menu isn't accessible at all, just shows a non existant text field throughout the game. And here's my hoping coming in.With the menu narration in Forza Horizon 4, I hope that we could ask Microsoft if they could make the game Voice Over compatible and integrate some more sound cues, for example when a curve ends, when you pass an opponent and so on.I don't have any contact info for the accessibility staff at Microsoft, but maybe some others on here who are more involved into video game accessibility could jump in and see if they could achieve more. Here is the link to the App on the iOS appstore, it could be a good idea to drop some ratings for the app and asking that way as well. I don't know if Microsoft reads those ratings, but it could help. So, here's the link.https://apps.apple.com/de/app/forza-street/id1453783746Beware the download size, it's about 1.4 Gigabytes.I think we all can agree upon the fact that we need more higher quality accessible games on the mobile platform and with the games concept beeing generally accessible, here's hope that Forza Street could be one of those games eventually.Greetings Moritz.
