The only problem my msi had was the hinge, the whole back cover would of been like 200 or 250 pounds to replace, but the keyboard is fine, the battery still lasts pretty good for 2 and a half years of use and it is still very fast.

@Boo15Mario:Proprietary everything. They don't use cherry mx switches, and their durability/longevity rating is cut down significantly. You can replace an mx-based keyboard every once in a blue moon, you probably can't say exactly the same about Razor. Will it last long? Yes, but not as long. And when you're throwing down a hundred bucks on a mechanical board you want maximum longevity. I've even accidentally sat on the Korsair k63 and it still works without problems.

Re: Gaming Computers

I'll just say this, be carefull with prebuilts. Some people have good luck with them but I know plenty of people that had problems with their super expensive prebuilt rigs where stuff would stop working, just cable management would be horrible, which could shorten the life of components and restrict the airflow of the rig, etc. Most places tend to overcharge as well. My advice, get a list of parts together, buy 'em up and find a shop near by to assemble it for you, if that is possible. I think it'd be the best choice. Buying parts isn't very difficult either as long as you know what sockets are for what CPUs and what the RAM compatibility of your motherboard is. If you want the specs of my rig just let me know, I spent around $850 to $900 on the hole thing and it's a damn good PC

Do not go with Razer or MSI. MSI's are locked down like Apple devices hardware-wise, no matter how tempting those mx brown switches seem. Business laptops that are not marketed as gaming laptops can still be used as such, and since it is generally expected there'll be bulk purchases they are a bit less then gaming laptops price-wise because different markets.

Re: Gaming Computers

Hi.As other said, when it comes to desktops you should go build it yourself or go to a computer store, give them the list of parts you want and let them order the parts and build the thing for you. When you need a laptop, it depends on the direction you want to go.If you want full power and don't mind the thing beeing bulcky as all hel i would advice the Asus Rog line of computers, MSI machines.Other smaller and thinner alternatives are devices from razer, they are thin gaming laptops, you need to deal with more heat though because the case is slimmer.Greetings Moritz.

Re: Gaming Computers

My xps15 is surprisingly durable. It fell down onto a tile floor and there were no cracks whatsoever. Though it does have much better shock absorption than most laptops, using non-skid rubber surfaces that span the entire width rather than those non-skid feet in the corners that are more common. The thing's $1700 if you buy direct though, so if that doesn't fit your budget you can buy second-hand from a trusted source. The gtx1650 is a well above average graphics card that can power games pretty solidly.

Re: Gaming Computers

Well as a gamer myself, I'd highly recommend a gaming keyboard. As for your laptop, you should be able to pick up one of the hp db line of units for round well whatever 1200-1500 is in your us dollars  or whatever it is.The unit I have is a slightly older model with a 2nd gen rysen 5 processer, 16gb ram, a 1tb seagate hdd  and a 256gb toshiba ssd.Its got after some tweaking and doodling with enhancements a really good soundcard and speakers and is touted as a small work station. Its quiet and it runs.I do have a cooling deskfan under it.I also when at home use a strix pro tactic asus board for bashing games on it.I wouldn't try to game directly on any laptop, you'll just bust your board. At any rate a mechanical blue, red black or brown cherry will give you the full range of movement on the keys.I have a blue cherry so it sounds like an older typewriter and is quite clicky but I have had it for years now and bar a few firmware updates it just works. However, you may be better building yourself.Again I only know in new zealand dollars, but pbtech which is what I use is australian and may work better for you who knows. At any rate, when searching for a pc for someone, a good home pc is all you need.600 bucks will give you a good duelcore amd ge series.for about 800 or so you can get an r3 like me and for round 1000 an r5 or 7.On the flipside, you can get a good intel i5 9th gen or higher for 1000 and for 400 dollars more a i7.In all cases you will be able to get the drives for data and os and internal video cards. Now unless you are seriously into video gaming, I wouldn't bother buying a videogame card, though if you get a good special I have seen an entry level amd r5 or r7 at 100 dollars. If anything you may want to spend on a soundcard because you will just get the realtech card which in my case is ok for gaming but I have a few headsets at my disposal.I also have the andriea electronics 3d phones which are good for recording and they have a card.atguys.com has a 10 dollar card which is a nice extra to have for pc troubleshooting and such.Over that whatever you want. But if you are going to play a lot of older audio titles the creative sb play3 or equivilent is a must as it has alchahol emulation. One thing to note is those videocards will be not that accessible for their controls. My amd one isn't in fact I make sure to stop the tasks loading at startup before I restart after an update and they can also screw with some keyboards.Gaming cards like amd will update up to 4 times a month, and if you use the recommended drivers twice a year.Nvidia cards update once or twice a month. If you really can't be bothered with that, the intel stuff updates every so often. It may not update for 5 years at a stretch though it will periodically get updates. My old hd4 series on one of my custom workstations didn't get updated for 3 years, its just got one now.If you are really set on gaming, I wouldn't go for a laptop unless its got a secondary use.1.  you want to take it away with you like to another point in your house or away, or have limited room.I have limited room here and I like the quietness of a laptop because I had one at school and so on.I don't have the room for a desk tower as such though now I have upgraded my gaming speakers I actually do have room to stick a box down if I wanted or needed to.Its going to be easier to modify to.Some of those small form factor pcs will be quite powerfull and you can sort of carry them about. You can also put wireless and bluetooth in a pc.You will get more ports on a desktop. The big disadvantage with a pc is if you want to put in another board you will have to get down and dirty with its guts. With a laptop its all external but you only have a limited set of ports so a gaming hub like the tplink uh720 or 710 is a must.

I will agree with @Liam here, if you go for a desktop, build it yourself or with sighted help.If you go for a laptop, get anything that spots your needs, it is just that they aren't durable anymore.Or, get a thinkpad, they are long lasting machines, have a very good keyboard and you can do gaming on them.

The best way to go is to build your own machine. I realize it's far from the easiest, but you won't have to deal with markups on components, and you'll know what you're putting in to your machine. This curren tmachine was built by someone else, and I really failed to supervise the process. I ended up with a lot of out of date hardware.

Hello. Another root you may want to go is second hand business machines. I have a local store here that sells them and we are talking good quality i5 and i7 machines for $200 to $400. Depending on the games you play, these machines are more than capable. To give you an idea, I recently picked up an HP zbook with an i7 4700, 16 GB ram, 256 GB ssd and a 1 GB k610M graphics card. I think the price was like $350 or so. It was a replacement for a computer I had bought from them last year that developed an electrical issue. It runs MKX and rocket league no problem. But that's the extent of my PC gaming. Audio games are nothing to systems like this.

As I said, you need to contact the developer for a download link. If this link doesn't work, then there might be a new site. It worked in 2017.http://www.jeremy.com/downloads/windows-Jen13.msiRun the .msi, file, follow the prompts and it will run in the background. You'll still have Windows 10 in a way, it just changes how certain things work.Warning! If you use JAWS, do not! Download the file. It will delete all versions of JAWS and either have you use Narrator or install NVDA, System Access or Window Eyes. The entire program is free, including "Defensive" and "Jennifer Internet".

It seems like gaming computers are mainly built for video games, which require good graphics cards and those can get expensive. I have a normal HP computer that I use for work, school and the games, and games run fine on it.It runs Windows Jen version 1.3, (yes Windows Jen is a thing). It's an adapted version of Windows 10 for NVDA users. You'll have to contact the developer to download it, though. I don't know about the processor and all that, but here's the properties of the Hard Drive.File System: NTFS. Used Space: about 87 Giggabites, from memory.Remaining space: from memory, about 362 gigabites.Full copacity: 450 giggabites. To the person who was able to get the system information like what kind of processor it was, how did you access and post it?

Gaming laptops are price-hiked because they are advertised as such, and the market allows them to. Business laptops, legitimate ones, aren't those that you would normally obtain as an individual customer, but more often than not, there is no paperwork involved in signing up as a business customer.

I agree 100% will Jack on this one. honestly, the only advantage I think that "gaming" laptops have are that they can get more powerful graphics cards, but even without those, their price is hiked because of things that I wouldn't need as a blind person i.e. RGB lighting. I could be wrong, but unless the keyboards are overall better, I don't think there's a good reason for a blind person to go with a gaming laptop over something like what Jack recommended.

Hi everyone,My name is Shelby Craig and I am an audiogamer who loves to stream to Youtube. I have been having some issues with the computer that I currently use to stream, so I thought that I would purchase a new one. I currently use a Windows computer and I would love to have a computer that uses the same thing. I'm looking for a computer that doesn't overheat easily, has a goood battery life, and a fast processor. I havve looked at various reviews for various computers on Youtube and other sites, all of which have pros and cons. Does anyone have any recommendations for any computers that would be beneficial for gaming? If anyone else streams to Youtube, please let me know what you think the best computer would be for my needs. Thank you for any and all suggestions.
