So, quick update.I tried react OS, and followed the instructions to get sound drivers installed in VMWare, going through a very painstaking process with OCR, And it bluescreened on boot with a processor has been disabled by the guest

Only later AMD Ryzens are actually good. So depending on what your pc needs are I'd aim higher if you can. And buy one with pro, then you can at least disable windows update if it's bugging you.

yes and you can just buy a cheap laptop with AMD ryzen3 and windows10 in s mode, set it up and then switch it to the windows 10 home edition anyway.

You're required to pay the first time but, after that and assuming you didn't get an OEM license, the license is tied to your Microsoft account and you can move it to your new machine.

@masonasons: Unix/Linux-based, I meant. It isn't a direct derivative of a Linux distro specifically, but It still uses Wine as its Windows compatibility layer. So a direct Windows Screen reader wouldn't work because lack of msaa/ui

THe short answer is no. React OS is really heavily souped-up android x86, so any windows app support is most definitely some implementation of Wine.

Maybe but I doubt it. The screen reader stuff is an entire subsystem of Windows all its own and unless they've bothered to fully implement it and are keeping it up to date that's not going to go far. In all honesty it's not going to go
