How to Get Android X86 Working in VM Ware Player

Hi guys. So, I've got this iso for the android x86 project, and I have a question. I'm trying to unlock the screen, but I hear that the keybord can't be used to do that, you have to press the power button. Well, that's gunna shut down my host computer. So, does anyone know a way around this?

Re: How to Get Android X86 Working in VM Ware Player

Go into your host's power options and change the setting for power button to something else."Do nothing" would be the best for obvious reasons, but I suspect "sleep" would also work. This will probably only work if you're supposed to press power on the host - if you have to do it on the vm, you may have to get creative (does your keyboard have a power button on it? Can you map something to power for the vm?).

Re: How to Get Android X86 Working in VM Ware Player

Maybe go into the player menu and hit shut down or restart or something there, ehh. maybe not, now that I think of it because they're hard shut downs, they even tell you its better to use your guest OS's manner to power down. hmm, I'm clueless, other than to suggest using an emulator which I think you get when you download the android SDK.
