Re: Infovox 4 bundle questions
Re: Infovox 4 bundle questions Not really, but koba speech, which is the sapi form of vocalizer, is hot what some think it is. It is said to be a vocalizer for sapi, but heres what its really made of. The company, koba vision, only made the reg system accompanying this tts engine. The rest is all pure nuance. And yet, they call it their own thing koba speech? They shoulda just been a distributer of vocalizer instead. And as if this cake needed anymore icing, not even all the voices are included! Koba speech 3 only includes the voices Ava, which is really good, and Samantha, who is ok, but no Allison or tom? So yeah dont trust koba speech URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=219087#p219087 ___ Audiogames-reflector mailing list Audiogames-reflector@sabahattin-gucukoglu.com https://sabahattin-gucukoglu.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/audiogames-reflector
Infovox 4 bundle questions
Infovox 4 bundle questions Hi all,According to this web page,http://www.acapela-group.com/infovox/it is possible to purchase a bundle of Infovox voices and utilities on a USB flash drive. You can then either run the product through the USB media on any computer, or install it on up to three computers. I do like the sound of this, but has anyone actually purchased this product? I havent looked for a price yet, but if its not over $150 or so, I think I may be able to afford it, since i have been after many of these voices for a long time. I dont know why, I just like the way they sound. I also have a few other questions.1. When downloading additional voices, does the voice data get installed to the USB flash media? If so, then I would hope the flash media is big enough to accommodate, say, a dozen voices being installed on it.2. Do you buy a single license and then install voices as you wish like the Vocalizer NVDA driver? Or do you pay by voice, or by language?3. Is the whole Infovox voice list available for download, or only a select few? Judging by what I can tell you have access to all of them, but thought Id ask.4. Im assuming you dont have to use the NVDA included on the drive to use these voices with it, its just there for easy access. I could instead run my own customized NVDA as normal and it wouldnt break anything? Thanks for reading and have a good day! Infovox 4 bundle questions Hi all,According to this web page,http://www.acapela-group.com/infovox/it is possible to purchase a bundle of Infovox voices and utilities on a USB flash drive. If so, then I would hope the flash media is big enough to accommodate, say, a dozen voices being installed on it. If not, then my only other thought is that the voice s get installed to the local hard drive and you either need to have the USB media inserted to use them, or authorize it on a computer.2. Do you buy a single license and then install voices as you wish like the Vocalizer NVDA driver? Or do you pay by voice, or by language?3. Re: Infovox 4 bundle questions
Re: Infovox 4 bundle questions Unfortunately purchasing these voices isnt as easy as getting a one-and-done license. You need to purchase a language, and you can purchase up to five voices on a stick. Last I heard a good bit of voices was about 500 euros which may be around 550 dollars, rediculous as you can see. If you had a mac installing the voices is a lot easier because you dont need to worry about usbs and authorization, the voices are actually authorized through an infovox ivox license server account which is why you can install/uninstall them on as many macs as you own. Additionally, voice credits, which is what is used to activate the voices, are only $15 a piece, and I believe you get slight discounts if you get multiple credits at once. This, in fact, means that you dont even buy the voices right away. You can, lets say, buy a credit or two with no risk whatsoever. And heres the thing, rather than the whole engine being a 30 day trial, each voice is accompanied wit h its own! 30 day trial. So you can try a few voices, decide if you like them, and decide which ones youd like to spend your credits on, and its one credit per voice. If your trial expires for that voice, no problem, simply uninstall that voice and nothing will be messed with as far as your licensed voices. Unfortunately, the process for getting them on pc is not nearly as simple or convenient as getting them on the mac. Re: Infovox 4 bundle questions
Re: Infovox 4 bundle questions Hmm, I may hold off on these then. after all the Vocalizer voices imho are slightly better than most of the Infovox ones, and at a fraction of the price too... the cost difference is due of course to the fact that Vocalizer comes as an NVDA driver and not as sapi. If I were to get the sapi Vocalizer voices, Id be paying a scary price from what I am told.
