Re: Introducing... Keyjutsu - Superpowers right in your fingers

Hi,@8: modern tvs can be often paired through Bluetooth with a phone for example and allow some degree of control like sharing videos, images etc. to display on the screen. The easiest variant would be a tv with Android, where you could control it by sending key commands, flashlight from a good placed source would be an option for simpler devices.Everything is possible with right skills, but even simpler things, which can a non-programmer do as well, such as opening folders, can often be very helpful.Best regardsRastislav

Wow, Control your TV? I wonder how that could be accomplished? Sounds quite interesting to me. I just don't have good coding knollege.

Re: Introducing... Keyjutsu - Superpowers right in your fingers

Hi,okay, let's put it on an example. On my computer, I have one big directory called School. This directory contains three subdirectories, for basic school, middle school and university. I'm currently in middle school, it's not a secret, so inside this directory, there are folders 1, 2 3 and 4, representing classes. Each of them contains directories such as Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, English language, History etc. And each of those directories contains again subdirectories for Notes, Exercises, Homeworks and Projects. Now, a situation, which you might know very well, a teacher comes to the class, and starts dictating notes almost immediately. Especially when it's the first lesson, I need to wait until my laptop starts and everything is ready. And then, if I want to open my Biology notes, I first need to go to desktop, then find and click School, find and click Middle school, find and click 3, find and click Biology, find and click notes and finally find the current topic's file, click on it and if it's written in Word, wait, until the lazy application starts up and I am able to do something.I guess it's not hard to imagine, that this procedure takes much time, when you need it the most. But now, with Keyjutsu, the situation is completely different. All I need to do is to press ctrl + K, and write DSBN (as lowercase of course), and the directory appears immediately.D as directories, S as school, B as biology and N as notes. It's a keyboard sequence, which allows me to open my Biology notes in matter of milliseconds, instead of long clicking through directories.I wouldn't call Keyjutsu a successor of Autohotkey, but rather a way to write Autohotkey scripts containing keyboard sequences. AHK doesn't support them directly, so you would either need to think out tons of basic shortcuts for every simple subject and its subdirectories, or code the framework manually, what makes the code quite messy.Keyjutsu generates it for you with some nice extra features such as regexes or configurable activation hotkeys, so you can fully concentrate on defining your sequences structure and their code, without worrying about how they will be handled. The reason, why keyboard sequences are so useful is, that they are very easy to remember. Just try it out, when DSBN, standing for Directories, School, Biology, Notes opens Biology notes, what will be the sequence to open Physics notes? That's right, DSPN, like Directories, School, Physics, Notes. And what will be the sequence for Physics exercises? That's right, DSPE, like Directories, School, Physics, Exercises. You see, even if you don't use certain sequence, you can still derive what will it look like, what is not the case of keyboard shortcuts, where the only thing reminding their functionality is their single letter, which is taken over soon and thus there are no keyboard shortcuts available. Then, if you imagine sequences like a tree, Where ctrl + K is a trunk, sequences are branches and their actions are leaves, you will be able to imagine your sequences like a map, instead of memorizing their letters. Directories is one branch coming out of the trunk, and has a subbranch School. But there could be other subbranches, I have here a subbranch Development, there could be also one called Work, Music or Videos. When you continue through the School branch, there are other subbranches, each for one subject such as Biology, Mathematics, Physics, etc. Following one of them will again introduce some subbranches - Notes, Exercises, Homeworks and Projects. And because none of these has other subbranches, when you select one, you will end up with leaf, the action, which opens that certain directory. In the same way can be covered infact any kind of task, such as those I mentioned in post 1, like creating new text files (what otherwise requires quite exhaustive menu clicking), prototyping Markdown, controlling your TV (if you are able to code it) and much much more.Just put everything to the tree in a clear and balanced way, and you'll be able to do anything without ever forgetting, how to do it.I hope it's somewhat clearer now. Please let me know if this explanation was more helpful, I could deal then with the text on the website.Best regardsRastislav

Introducing... Keyjutsu - Superpowers right in your fingers

***Warning!!! Very important!!! Read three times!!!Please, please, please, before using, asking and especially criticising, take the time and read the program's documentation. I spent few hours by writing it and other few hours by translating it to English. It isn't there just to take space. It will be profitable for both sides - I won't have to answer questions which are already answered and in exchange you'll get familiar with the full power that Keyjutsu can offer you. Thanks for your understanding.*** End of the warning.Hi guys!I thought I will never finish the translation, but yep, it's finally here. Besides ninjutsu, genjutsu, taijutsu, kenjutsu, dojutsu and others, there is finally Keyjutsu (きー術), now in the english version! If you wonder, how shall it be pronounced, the first part - key goes as key, ju goes as juice without phonetical s and tsu goes as tsu (I guess even English synthesizers pronounce this part correctly ).Just a small motivation, creating files with utf-8 encoding, opening files in specific programs or viewing a html version of Markdown script in a browser from any text editor or edit field by a single keyboard command is just a small fraction of what this program can do.Here is a passage from Keyjutsu's official webpage. For sake of speed, I have translated the site directly from original, Slovak version instead of writing a new, English text. it doesn't seem so bad to me, but it's true that some long sentences, which are okay in Slovak, seem quite strange in English. Please let me know if it's too horrible, I could do a rewrite like I did with the documentation.Have you ever had a feeling that during your computer work, some tasks are repeated too often? Or that they are too incomfortable? Are you constantly disturbed by the need to always switch something, open something, close something and to do many other things to achieve a simple goal? You’re not alone. Blind users have it even harder, as we work with Windows in a linear way instead of a spaceone. Thus if we want to do something in another program, we need to switch to it, even if it was already opened, instead of placing it beside the currentone or clicking directly on its icon in the bottom bar, as sighted users can do.Therefore while working one spends a significant amount of time just by clicking through folders, switching and searching between opened windows, selecting items from context and other kinds of menu and by other pointless things, which are not just a waste of time, but they also draw one’s attention from the really important tasks.Even with a programming knowledge, which can do various kinds of tasks with a lightning speed and without problems, there is still a question, how to simply, efficiently and quickly tell our computers what we want them to do in a concrete situation? And exactly these two problems can be solved by Keyjutsu.Read more at:https://rastisoftslabs.com/2020/02/29/k … r-fingers/Best regardsRastislav
