Re: Obtaining audio books that are not in my country
Ahh, I wondered what that $1.45 charge was for. Strangely, it charged my savings account and not checking. As for Audible, I'm pretty sure you do have to use a VPN. I looked at my account in the U.S. market and it claims I have
Re: Obtaining audio books that are not in my country
You shouldn't really need a vpm to create a audible account just use the audible 30 day trial link, create a new account, use addresses from those fakename generators out there, and try your own creditcard. Itunes actually checks which
Re: Obtaining audio books that are not in my country
Well, I've finally figured it out. I was able to set up Tunnelbear on a Windows VM and got a UK account up and running. The book is now downloading in Audible Download Manager? Why do I have to use that piece of crap on Windows? Why

Re: Obtaining audio books that are not in my country
I don't think this is going to work unless I change my IP address with a VPN. I'm going to try creating another account using a VPN on a Windows 7 VM. What UK billing address should I use?

Re: Obtaining audio books that are not in my country
I don't like the idea of all these dodgy VPN providers ...There is Tor, of course. But, since you'll be using Safari, this will require some skill to get working.Did you just try it first? Create a new account if necessary; you're only
Re: Obtaining audio books that are not in my country
I found something called Tunnelbear. The OS X client appears to be mostly accessible except for some unlabeled buttons. Should I use this one? Is the Windows version more accessible?

I'm stuck. When I try to create an Audible account, it wants me to create another Amazon account. I don't have the option to select the country. Do I have to continue with the account creation process or will it st put me into the U.S
Re: Obtaining audio books that are not in my country
Why shouldn't your payment method work? Surely, if it's Visa/Mastercard, it'll work just fine. Simply sign up, as you would. Try it without a VPN, and then with.

So, what do I do? Create an Audible account with another e-mail address and set my country to the UK? What do I use for a payment method? I think you get the first book free, but what if I want to buy more?

Now that we know how to strip DRM from Audible books, it ought to be sufficient to create an Audible UK account, grab the AAX files, strip the DRM, and then add them to your collection. The trick is to appear to be in the UK (VPN) while
Re: Obtaining audio books that are not in my country

If you want to create another Apple-ID, the only thing you need, is an adress in the UK. Just try to find a random adress through Google. Apple won't check that. As for the currency, no, you can't use giftcards from the US. You have

Another alternative might be, to create an Apple-ID for the needed country. As far as I know, ITunes has the same range of audiobooks as Audible. The stuff there is a bit expensive though. And yu would have to deal with the DRM
