Hi.I just looked at this game.Unless I am a total retard, I can not find the lua script tools mentioned in the binary or source distros on github.I thought the preconfigured package has those so unless I dont have the package and since I am downloading this from the official site there shouldnt be a problem.I have some time tonight to actually bother with this game.But I cant even get it started.Its loaded, but um where is this new lua script thing.To be honest once its all set and done there should be a lua binary which runs all the scripts and maybe the emulator with the right params to load the file and start playing it.

HeyIm having trouble running the lua file. Whenever I open the dialog and click browse, whatever screenreader I happen to be using (Jaws or NVDA) stops working for several seconds, and VBA crashes. Has anybody else encountered this issue? Im running Windows 8.1 if that makes any difference.

What you have to do with the farfechd is maneuver yourself behind it to chase it in the direction of its trainer. So if you use the tracking keys to see the position of the trainer and hes a ways down from you, and the farfetched is one step up from you, youd walk to the right and up a little, then left so the farfetched is down from you. That way itll run in the direction of the trainer. That worked for me at least, but maybe theres an easier way. Im currently stuck at the ice path at the moment. What an annoying little maze it is! haha

I use gameshark codes to fight them in the wild and catch them. You can also use the codes to obtain useful items and TMS that youd normally have to trade to get, and to walk through walls, which makes navigating a lot easier in some situations. Not always, however, because of obsticals such as vanishing platforms and holes, etc.

ok so coming from azalea follow the directions that f2 gives you if it says no path get as close as you can to the tree that you first cut down when going through the forest. When you hit a wall of trees going south when you do, it should ask you if you want to use headbut, assuming you equipped it, i hope you did. Then go as far right as you can and take one step left and then down so you hit the tree. This sould be the tree you want to cut down so press z aka a for the emulator and it should ask you if you want to cut it down. if not then just tap left and down and press z again until you find it, but its there. When something says no path it usually means you dont have an out of battle move to access that area yet eg rock smash, cut, strength, ect.

My game time was 45 minutes and 17 seconds, but thats because I didnt explore everything like I usually do.@flame_elchemist, Just try to level it up. Go north from goldenrod and fight all the trainers on the route and the national park. If only there was a way to trade you something. Id let you borrow my level 85 starter

Hi Jwoodill, are you the creator of the script? If yes when I said Paladin I mean Paladin of the sky, in which you have a sound of walls, so you can orientate in complicate areas and dungeons. In Pokemon there are caverns ecc, in which the wall sound would be very useful.

@pelantas, Keep tracking it with f1 or f3 and go in the direction its telling you to go. Eventually you will get it back with the kid.@flame_elchemist, Down from violet city.Ive completed the game, and it was an awesome experience having NVDA read all the text to me. I completed the game before, but never really knew what was going on because this was 2001 before this script came out.

make sure you are using f1 and f3 to track it, and keep pushing the bird. Took me about 5 minutes to get it. I will be doing a full recorded walkthrough tomorrow.

I am still stuck at the goldenrod rocket thing at another point where Im getting bad directions, but Im playing it in a virtual machine: So thats cool. To the post above wondering about their save file: If you place the .sav in the battery folder, not sure where to paste the save state files. Hope this helps you a little.

 dly if ever use guides or walkthroughs as far as I can help it, its more fun with out em as aposed to using guides to get things done, although for difficult places or such that was a problem for you all, some directions might go a long way.So if there was a place (the snowpath etc) that you had difficulty with and were able to cross it,post your experiences and directions or tips if any.For me its my very first gym battle and to see if I can grab a ghost or 2,along with a geodude I guess.grryf

Ahoy allI have been playing this off and on as college permits,and am really enjoying it. Although using braillemon was much smoother and easyer, however I do understand both of them are different games and it is indeed quite awesome that we can play a original pokemon game or at least read the text that is incomeing, and hence be able to play that way. If the grass and the walk sounds were added, there could be a possibility of adding other sounds too which could solve a few problems.What kind of teams have you guys gotten? where are you guys at? let discuss what we are doing and how we are doing it So far, Ive trained up my starter and even gotten it to evolve, caught a pijy, traded in a belsprout to get a ornix, and now am planning to catch a water pokemon next. with all that, I havent done a gym fight yet.:lol: I

hi,I dont know if this has been mansioned before. but when i am at route 29, and i want to go to the link with route 46 (i follow the walkthrough given by someone on gamefaqs.com), i can select that destination fine, but when i want to track the route toward taht route with the slash key, i get a path can not be found message.Are there more people experiencing this behaviour?Hope to hear from you soon.greetz mike

Hi,So I played with this briefly and seem to have a small problem. I can run the AHK file without any problems, I can start the vba and the ROM, but get the dreaded cannot find names error. I fixed it in the end by just making a new file called names.lua, but that is an empty file which I think has to do with why my current problem exists. I now hear the text being spoken out loud, so that is good, but the f-keys seem to do nothing at all for me and neither does the / key. Could someone tell me what I broke?Also, I tried with both the original pack and the updated scripts in this topic.Thanks much,Balliol

Ok so found the solution. The solution to the problem is ...dont try to fix it  The error is actually harmless and putting an empty file there seems to break things. When I looked at the ahk logs I did see stuff being triggered by my hotkeys, I just didnt get any feedback and this is probably why

There are problems saving because the included vba.ini has save paths that link to a d: drive instead of a c: one. Delete those lines from the ini and they should use the actual directory that the vba emulator is in.

As it is now, navigation is kind of painful. I uploaded a temporary solution. Hopefully someone can do something with it.https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/501 … cripts.zipThis essentially just adds a toggle to enable and disable navigation announcements when walking.When you walk, terrain will be announced when it changes. For example if your walking left and the terrain to the up changes, you will hear direction number (IE up 24). This however only uses the integers of the terrain types, it doesnt use the actual names. You can press f8 to toggle navigation announcements on or off. This should also remove that annoying cannot find names file error.I only know the following.0: Normal ground, you can walk there.18: Tree that can be cut down.24: Grass.113: A warp, usually to a house.

Im stuck at the rocket hideout part still, and at that point some of the directions it gives you dont actually work out, but sometimes thats because you are dealing with hidden mobs/items/whatever you cant get at that moment.

A few things:1. I wrote these original scripts. Currently, theyre in beta;Im improving things, including getting rid of the autohotkey requirement.2. Cannot load names file; thats harmless. As soon as you name something, itll write the file.3. This only works on English crystal; if you want another language youll have to find the ram addresses yourself.When things get into a more usable state, Ill post a thread with more info.

@ambro86 Ive tried with the spanish version of pokemon kristal, and the result wasnt perfect, but the game can play, without some features.In the english version, the script add some sounds to steps in ground and grass, but in other languajes than English this feature doesnt work, and the coordination system have some mistakes, but in the first part of the game arent important. I dont know more far in the game, but if you want, you can try.

Only inaccessible part for me is setting your own custom name. Every other menu seems to work fine for me. A rom can be found by googling, or by just using my pack linked to in the first post of this thread.

Ahoy thereserrebi thanks for putting this package up and my thanks to who ever created these scripts!Took me a while to figure out but I managed to get to elm, and pick a pokemon. had no idea what pokemon each pokeyball had so ended up picking my favourite firehouse :dAre these footstepsounds and wall sounds already in the game? or have these been added as someone said that they here them in English but not in other languages? I guess it must be to do with the roms.For some reason I keep on getting unable to create or save the save file errors,and sinse I dont see a load a new game option in the main menu I guess my progress was lost.Any of you experiencing this error?Everything in the script works well besides 2 things. first battles, its hard to understand how much damage my attacks are doing and the opponent. and I suppose I can change the second one myself,the keys to read items on the map because Im using a laptop and usin
