Re: Recommendations: what audio setups are you using?

I'm probably going to end up getting some sort of external USB soundcard as this PC is a small form factor type and I don't think standard PCI soundcards will fit. I don't have a clue how to determine which soundcards fit in an SFF computer, so I'll have to go for a USB sort.

The trouble is they often have stuff I don't need, and not stuff I do like a 3.5mm speaker out.

Re: Recommendations: what audio setups are you using?

I am not a fan of artificial sound improovement because it quite offen happpens that sounds get played in the wrong wayy, to much bass, almost no bass, I think you know what I mean.I also have a BeyerDynamics dt 990 pro which is a sort of open studio headphone.I just ordered the Sennheiser urbanister XL wireless as a bluetooth solution, I have to see how that one will work out when it comes tomorrow.Greetings Moritz

Re: Recommendations: what audio setups are you using?

I like the sound of those Beyerdynamics with the bass control. I often find I try to position my in ear phones to get it so it's not too boomy but not too washed out either. I have a pair of beyerdynamics dt100 for my music PC. Think they're particularly good for playing guitar through. They don't artificially brighten up the sound like lots of hi-fi headphones do.

Re: Recommendations: what audio setups are you using?

Hi.For dayly computer work I use a BeyerDynamics CustomOnePro headset which has a nutral sound to it and a feature to increase or decrease the bass with a switch at the bottm of each earcup so you can manualy set how much bass every ear is getting, you have 4 different presets to choose from. But, maybe someone knows that, is there a way to use a bluetooth headset at the pc which I also can use for gaming, so without lag? Because I actually want to go wireless now, I have a wireless xBox controler which works quite fine, and also my apple keyboard works without lag when I tested it, but my Airpods just lagged and did a huge amound of crackling after 20 seconds or so and didnt play any sound anymore. So, does someone have an idea if such headphones with bluetooth exist?Greetings Moritz.

Re: Recommendations: what audio setups are you using?

My setup is a bit more davanced, maybe, but I'll post it.I have three audio devices connected to my setup.Generally, I use the Realtek HD Audio sound card that is integrated into my Asus M5a99FX motherboard.  I also have a Dell AC511 sound bar, and then I have a Tascam US-1800 Audio device. The Dell is not normally hooked up unless I want to project sound out other than my headphones, but the Realtek and Tascam devices are both connected to a Behringer 802 mixer and I use a pair of Audio Tecnica ATHM-50x headphones.  This setup is largely due to my studio, but generally for most pc applications that require non ASIO sound, I use the  realtek HD audio.  Additionally, the mixer had my phone connected to it as well, so that way I can hear it when  I'm playing games or whatever through the same pair of headphones.

Re: Recommendations: what audio setups are you using?

For day to day use I have a pair of Amazon Basics USB powered speakers, they won't win any awards for audio quality but they do get the job done. I chose USB powered so that the speakers would turn on and off when the computer does. When I play audio games that recommend using head phone for their excellent stereo separation, I use a pair of Sennheiser wireless headphones.

Re: Recommendations: what audio setups are you using?

I particularly meant soundcards and headphones/headsets/earphones, but if you're using an ap to enhance your audio, mention that too for sure. It occurred to me after I posted this that most people will probably be using laptops. I've always preferred a desktop for my main home PC, so soundcards are much more a user preference kind of thing. I'm so desktop-centric that I forgot they're becoming quite rare for home use .

Re: Recommendations: what audio setups are you using?

What do you mean by an audio setup? Do you mean an application which enhances the quality of the sound you hear? Or any device that performs function of a sound card.I'm using an HP with an application that comes preinstalled, and it is called DTS Audio control, in fact it is much like an audio driver that enhances sound quality.

Recommendations: what audio setups are you using?

Since I started playing audio games, I found my integrated soundcard is a bit lacking in the depth department. I just tested some games with my USB audio device and decent headphones and found I could hear a lot more.Though I don't want to use that particular device and big headphones on this PC, I would like to know what people are using, and what they think of them. I'll ultimately buy whatever suits my needs, but I'm still interested in whatever audio setup people are using for day-to-day use and gaming.
