I meant to be sarcastic, lol. I'm sure if other blind people were met with this kind of message, they'd instantly be upset. The app is functional, though. It's not like the entire app is down.

Re: Um, what did Best Buy do to their iOS app?

Why would you be furious about them making accessibility improvements, that makes no sense. I could see if the app came back up and it was less usable than it was, but lol, this just seems... well... yeah.

Re: Um, what did Best Buy do to their iOS app?

Well I can't really answer your questions. But I would guess the app is down for now, which is why they redirect you to the best buy website to shop. You will probably know for sure if this is the case when the app comes back online again.Hth.

Um, what did Best Buy do to their iOS app?

I went to open the Best Buy app on my iPhone today and was greeted with this message:"Best Buy is making accessibility improvements to our mobile app. Tap Continue to connect to BestBuy.com to continue your shopping experience."After the several moments it took me to fully process this, I clicked the "Continue to BestBuy.com" button. And, sure enough, it redirected me to Safari and to the BestBuy.com home site. So, before I turn into a typically infuriated blind person when faced with this kind of message, I'm extraordinarily curious what this message actually means. I never had issues with their app before, albeit it could've been a teeny tiny bit more usable. I'd say that 99% of the UI was usable, and you could navigate everything no sweat. So, what improvements are they making, if they are making any improvements? Is the redirect to Safari just a temporary thing? What possible inaccessible components are there in the app that would make the developers write in something that detects if VoiceOver is active and then redirect you if it is? is the app making things any less difficult than using the site on our phones? Am I asking too many questions and making a huge deal for nothing?I have never seen this before. Sure, I've visited sites that mention accessiblity and how they took screen reader access in mind, but never an app that behaves in this deliberate way.If the number I'm reading is correct, the version number is 19.5.10. I had to turn VO off and then tell Siri to open the app and then turn VO back on to navigate the app. So honestly, you just have to be a little smarter than the developers. As anyone seen this kind of thing before? Am I oblivious to this style of conveying improvements to users, especially those using assistive tech?
