Well it's not stable in the sense that any troops sent to fight in it don't return even for the winning side but if you go the extras menu and then to concept art, then enter 70. You have a simulator there where you can toy with the current combat update implementation.It's pretty basic at the moment but I'm working on it. Also there's currently a slight bug that pops up every now and then about the battle roll system breaking but I'm going to address that soon.All in all it's barebones and unfinished but the battle system does pretty much work if you want to check it out

@Firefly, Cheers for the kind words mate, always lovely to read.So the combat update is currently quite hard to estimate, I've given a sort of 'baseless' date in my head of about 3 months but I feel like it could be longer. Once I get the current batch of combat work out of the way, I'll be rewriting the combat update plans from scratch and planning this time exactly how I'll do everything and how long I estimate they will take. It's hard to estimate 100% as there can always be hitches and bugs and stuff but I'll have a better idea then I believe.Still It's progressing nicely, Tons more to go but I'm getting there

I owe a lot to the Audiogames community so any time I come across visually impaired gamers who aren't using it and have issues with Warsim I always direct them here. It's a super helpful place.I'm very grateful you invited me here so many years ago!@Niklas, The RPGification stuff will be coming separately, however there is a feature that links the two that I need to figure out. It would be cool if the player could lead an army, but this works best with RPGification so it may be a case of I leave a sort of template thing in the combat update code to allow me to expand it when I get to RPGification.I imagine when the combat update gets underway, I will eventually release an update with a sort of 'Lean combat update' that contains the core mechanics and some content, and then will add more content/tweaks/and fixes in subsequent updates.Still mountains more work to go though

@Titan of War, cheers mate, my pleasure.@JasonBlaze, cheers mate. Don't think I've got the old files. And unfortunatley due to the nature of the way the sound system works it resets each time. Wasn't such a problem before but now with so many sound effects in Warsim it's annoying. I use the menu theme or the calm theme as the background as they are shorted loops so it's not a problem when they reset.@germanico, Hmm that's odd. is the screen reader blocking the rest of the text or something?

thanks for the update! btw I am not sure if I already ask this before, but any of you happened to keep the old warsim music? it's the same music as the current clasic one, but the one that the game uses right now is the mono version of that song. and also, is it possible to keep the music playing without interupting it? I have 1 long mp3 file that contains an album, a few events of the game make the music starts from the beginning again.

If two brawlers, for example a grizzled and a nasty brawler fights, and the grizzled wins, then the grizzled is shown as the winner and the loser for some reason when the gold is paid, i reproduced this countless times.edit: I  almost feel bad reporting this because its just a superhuge exploit  If you do a tournament, and bet the max amount, and win, the arena still accepts regular bets. Another little typo, if you get the animal fight pit and upgrade it, the screen writes: You pass by a the great animal fight pit.Wastelander, no, i know its two different named brawlers. If two brawlers, for example a grizzled and a nasty brawler fights, and the grizzled wins, then the grizzled is shown as the winner and the loser for some reason when the gold is paid, i reproduced this countless times.

@Titan_of_War, in the full game there are mountains of ways to get gold, laws, upgrades, buying buildings, taking over locations, selling units etc@Arnold18, Glad you like the gnome insult system, I made it for a joke a while back and then was testing it and realised it could be better, we had a competition and got over 300 new insults and several bonus systems and I fucking love it now hahaAlso as for the double named thing, In that instance one of them is the winner and the other opponent must have had the same name because the loser also gets paid but a little less gold.@Titan_of_War, Your kingdom has lands and so do other factions, more lands is more recruits and income, you can invade to take land from others.In the full version of the game there are over 10'000 changes, maybe even 20'000... tons of new features, laws, locations, things to do, factions, content, tons of reworks.

it gets harder in the real version because you can "explore new lands" when you have eliminated some of the other kingdoms and then they will be replaced with bigger and stronger kingdoms that have more lands, a lot more troops, and the like and it gets progressively harder. Also, if you're wanting a real challenge, the demons are definitely up there as a major threat. Each demonic warrior is incredibly powerful and unless you outnumber them like 100:1 or more you don't stand a chance.

Sorry for double post, but i've a bug to report. In the brawler's pit, when you manage the fights manually, sometimes the winner is said twice when he wins. For example. The fight was great, drawing in many spectators.Bets and tickets sold came to 240 gold.You lost 19 gold to winning betsYou pay the winner, Grizzled Brawler his fee of 15 goldYou pay the Grizzled Brawler his fee of 10 goldYour total earnings from the fight are 196 goldPress any key to continue . . .I devised that this happens when the brawler who is first in the alphabet wins.

Death is only during timed modes however you can end the game at any time via the throne room now with a new option at the end, this will trigger the same system

Hey, some ideas which i've been throwing around in my head, sorry if any of them were mentioned before. If females will be added, what about dinasties? Like you could rule on as your child. A few suggestions for the first person update: Effects for the king. For example kingname the deathbringer, stronger moves in duels, will talk about duels in a bit. Or the celebrity, you get public opinion each year because you are well known. There are those throne room encounters when some mad person or someone who dishonors you comes in, you could demand a combat, either till first blood or death. Duel would look like a turn by turn combat, first you'd need to aggree on a weapon, for example sword or unarmed, then based on your battlescore as a person, you'd get moves with that weapon. For example every 20 battlescore, you'd get a new move. Catch is that you can select from only 3 in a turn, randomly selected, to not get too trigger happy. Based on who you're fighting, that person could be unskilled, so very easy to find out what he's up to, or extremely skilled, so you can not get any indication because he's so lightning fast, and in-between. If this system is implemented at all, a new option in battle could be to challenge the leaders of tribal factions or honorbound leaders for single combat, and if you win, they become your wassal, or just give all of their kingdom to you and they become a general of your army or whatever. They could chicken out and just order a lord of one of their lands to fight thus giving you that land if you win.I have lots of such ideas but i think i should stop rambling, this post is getting very tldr-ish.  I'm curious what all you think.

wow, whatched the actual interview with you huw. Awesome, especially the one change about the coming update makes me excited. One thought here: If your story ends and you start a new game, you could have left prints in the world or it changed completely due to the things you have done. That could range from the things the NPC's would tell about the passed away king if you are a new one, to books and such in wich the kings who passed away could be menssioned and such. I think there's a lot of potential.And regarding the first person update, i hope we will be able to go on quests, missions or whole expeditions or jouneys we can be part of. That would be even awesome as well as even more areas for the game world in general wich can be explored, even if there are small ones to make the world even bigger. They could differ in size. But the last two suggestions have nothing to do with the first one, wich was about one of the changes in the coming update. I am excited about this and even about what else will be in the update. Got another inspiration from my dad's passing on Jan 4. What about random illness and such that prevents you from sending armies at the end of the year to crush shit? Like that year you can only hire people to do it for you, but can't do it yourself. Or may be your general/blah blah blah dies suddenly before armies are launched, or at the end of the turn.(My dad had heart attack and died in his sleep. It was abrupt and my life now bounces back from 100 to 1. Moving to America in two months despite of covid. But at least that gave me some ideas for the game.)

I used the cruel ways to rule tome to see what would happen and I don't have an option anymore for evil policies.Is this a bug or is it supposed to happen? and if so how do I get it back?

Folks! I absolutely love what you made of my magic kick off!:-) Great job!And yes! We definitely need more random kingdom diplomatic events!Maybe we need a whole game mechanic about kingdom relationships between each other which affects general behaviour of every kingdom.
