I guess the only time I needed to use the full range of motion in soul cal was when fighting colossus in soul cal 3, but that was ages ago so I didn't remember till it was brought up.You can sidestep in tekken series after the first game, which you cant do even in street fighter series, which is why I made that comparison with the 3d movement being present in the namco games but not in the others, also why I said the differences were more pronounced in soul cal and Samsho. Speaking of which, I think I saw something that hinted at a crossover between the two. And pressing up doesn't jump in Soul Calibur, you have to press up and guard, and it's more for a short hop instead of the floating jumps you see in other fighting games. And I think the Street Fighter and Tekken comparisons would've been more comparable at the very beginning of the serieses... but they're now very much their own titles. Still the right idea, though, to summarize it as concisely as possible. lol But Samurai Shodown and street Fighter are much closer than SC and Tekken.
