(Just realized I linked to the official music video for "Mutha," which does not include said intro. Here's aversion that does include it.)

Re: Your Favorite Guitarists?

Don't forget Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme.(Just listen to the intro to "Mutha (Don't Want To Go To School Today)" if you want to hear how well this guy can shred.)Nuno is one of those underrated guitarists (along with Alex Lifeson) that never seems to receive the recognition he deserves.BTW, Megadeth rules.

Re: Your Favorite Guitarists?

Mark Knophler for sure. I love his style and wish I could play like that... complex finger picking just so does not work for me, though. lolAlex Lifesun from Rush, of course.Glen Fri from the Eagles. One of the best examples of a guitarist who doesn't have to play fancy to sound amazing. Simple is best sometimes and this guy shows it!

Re: Your Favorite Guitarists?

Many of the names mentioned before are among my favorites as well, but I don't feel the need to repeat them, so let's add some more great guitarists:Alexi Laiho from Children of Bodom.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8F3t-F_grcMark Knopfler from Dire straits and his solo stuff - He has such a great tone and feel when he plays.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dd3btVhwr48Joe Bonamassa - More bluesy kind of stuff. I also dig his playing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1_6yCHnSI4Buckethead - Many of his songs are as weird as his name, but he also can make so called conventional music. Really diverse guy - on one album he can play heavy and shred like a maniac and on another he can play really soft and mellow. And he has a hell of a lot of albums. In one year he releas
ed over a hundred of them!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaDQaPoLyDYDave Mustaine - Although I have heard quite a lot about his personality being like it is, his playing and mainly his riffs sound just awesome. And let's not begin the debate Metallica vs Megadeth here! LOL I like them both! Now some acoustic players as well:Richard Thompson - One of my favorites. In addition to his playing I really like his timbre of voice. He has also quite a cool accent when he speaks.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHecFDLa9FALeo Kotke - That's just awesome what he does on his 12-string. He has quite nice raspy voice too.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v10j1H1fYJgAnd let's not forget Tommy Emmanuel! - Besides his playing he seams to be really humble and down to ea
 rth person.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENJuNCkPfx0=606s

Re: Your Favorite Guitarists?

Yngwie Malmsteen is another great guitarist. Speaking of the G3 tour, here is a great performance of Neil Young's "Rockin' in the Free World," by Satriani, Malmsteen and Vi.

Re: Your Favorite Guitarists?

Woo!  Tons of them, but this list includes stuff I don't even listen to anymore.  Since we're discussing guitarists in general though, I'll bite.I intend to post more in separate posts, but my net is currently acting up so I'll get these out in the metal and rock genres and come back with other stuffage.Paul Allender, Gian Pyres and James McIlroy, all once guitarists of Cradle of filth and other associated acts:Mark Morton and Willie Adler, Lamb of God:Michael Romeo, associated with Symphony X, Ayreon and others:Yngwie J. Malmsteen, has toured with g3 including Joe Satriani and Steve Vai:Eric Johnson, also associated with Satriani and G3 as well as Electromagnets:Diamond Darrell Abbott, member of Pantera before a massive dispute created discord within the band and caused him and his brother to form Damageplan:Misha Mansoor, responsible for Periphery and associated with Haunted Shores,Ron Jarzom
bek, founding member of Blotted Science and associated with Terrestrial Exiled and others:
