At least if you have premium. Tipping is the only new variable, which you should think is important, since they are doing the work for you, again the prices for staples feel the same to me, but I guess it depends on where you are. Or maybe the store was really small and they always put it in the same place. There's a lot of little exceptional circumstances where that's possible. But it's definitely not the norm, and I doubt there's any blind person who can go to the nearest supermarket and find everything they need without asking. Even if you know the general area and have Seeing AI or whatever, stores rearrange merchandise all the time. Good luck in the can isle or for anything with jars, or... Re: a couple questions about independence stuff OK, so how this works is going to the counter and asking for assistance. Thats how you do it spontaneously. Nowadays, especially since COVID-19 is still a thing and will probably be for quite a while, most shops, at least in germany, can be called, telling them what you want to buy, they will tell you when you can head over and grab your stuff, and they'll probably have everything prepared for you just to take it with you.Another alternative are local delivery services, like we have over here in Germany as well, although those are regional offers. We've a service which supports ordering in a few local stores, they'll send someone over to shop all the stuff you selected, getting in contact with you if they aren't able to find something or if they needed to take something instead of something else, and then they will buy it in your local store and take it to your home. That also works on the same day, just like the other two ways. You won't have to pay transport cost in any of those cases. The most common way though is just to enter the store and ask for assistance, it might however happen that they don't have the capacity atm or that you'll have to wait until someone can take a few minutes off for you. Re: a couple questions about independence stuff Yeah, that one can't be solved save with sighted help or a delivery service. Even in the 90s you could sometimes call ahead, but there's no magic bullet for it. a couple questions about independence stuff so i’ve been looking at trying to be more independent and I have a couple questions about some of these things, I think I’ll use this thread as a general independence questions thread if I have anything I want to ask. My first question is related to shopping. How would someone navigate through a store and find what they want without a sighted person by them?
