I'm hoping iOS 13 might change this, supposedly it has some additional API's that let you change how audio and video is captured during recordings. But that's still a week away, so we'll see if third party apps will be able to use them in audio contexts.Alex was added to iOS way back with iOS 8. The iPhone 5S and iPad Air were the first devices that could use it, at first only in VoiceOver. Last I heard, they have blocked all third party apps and even their own Voice Memos app from recording stereo audio. Supposedly, it is possible to convert a video recorded in stereo to an audio file with Apple Shortcuts. I recommend at least the iPhone 6s or 7, because the 5s and 6 are stuck on iOS 12. Every IPhone above the 8 does, but none before that.How to get the alex voice?Firstly, you have to make sure you have a 64 bit phone. so basically, is your device capable of running IOS 11? If yes, then you can go to settings>general>accessibilaty>voiceover>speech, then select your primary language, then select alex.If your phone can't support IOS 11, sorry, but your device is 32 bit, and it doesn't have support for the alex voice. You can get alex before IOS 11, but if your device can't run 11, it's 32 bit, and alex is a 64 bit voice.Is garage band accessible?Decently.
