Get rid of it and switch to Microsoft security essentials. If you go to the following link, there's a table of utilities, the top one is AVG remover. You probably best get a sighted person to do it as it's not very accessible, like everything else on AVG. The bit that tripped me up when I tried to run the remover myself, was that the PC restarts and it runs again to get more stuff. I think I didn't run it the second time so it left stuff behind.
