I.e. one commercially maintained package that has an open-season sapi4-implementation of Eloquence that is able to be exposed outside of the application it comes with (Window Eyes was this way until 7.0), but Speech Works International must not have changed Kurzwei's distribution rights. The obvious problem is that the application is expensive and a small percentage of us are likely to have it, let alone purchase it. The other problem with Code Factory Eloquence is the drm. I can't trust them from a longevity standpoint given the fact they kind of gave a big fuck you to Android customers by discontinuing it because no enough people bought it. True, it's obviously dated code that is not going to run if Android forces native code to be 64bit only in the near future, but all the same people who actually bought it have no recourse if a device is reset and Google decides to pull non-existing play store apps from people's accounts. Not everyone is going to be able to backup the apk. Granted, they fixed the persistent license checking issue inside Eloquence for Windows, but they have not done the same for Windows despite many asking for it. When they discontinue Eloquence for Windows, the thing will literally stop working. Unless I get some sort of proof they are going to have some recourse if they decide to stop supporting Vocalizer and Eloquence, it isn't worth my money. As for others, unless you want to spend $1049 on an actually good ocr utility, you're kind of s o l as far as obtaining a drm-free, severability-proof Eloquence is concerned. The legality of this depends on how you "obtained" it. owning one product with eloquence doesn't give you a license to use other distributions of eloquence, and may also not give you a license to use that version of eloquence in a way the product doesn't intend for you to.You can get a legal version of Eloquence here unless they discontinued it for some reason.That said, while I can't support piracy on a public forum on the internet, in this case I make no judgement.@3The internet archive archives everything unconditionally. Being discontinued and on the internet archive doesn't make it legal to use, though it's unlikely that anyone will care. The way the Internet Archive finds out content is illegal is if someone sends them a takedown request.The internet archive probably has every sort of illegal internet content you can possibly come up with. Drug deals and the like, even. Mostly, it's just a dumb bot that grabs a page, finds all the links on the page, repeat forever. Things get removed when people complain, not before. Right now, the only actively maintained commercial package that has a sapi4-usable Eloquence is Kurzweil1000. I can confirm the Eloquence in my copy of K1000 works in NVDA's IBM driver.Didn't know IBM Viavoice was still up for grabs, though it is still not an actively sold item. As such, being a clearance item there probably aren't much units left at all.
