No, not at all. Maybe only a few parts of the game, but not all of it. I have Resident evil 4 for ps2, which is not very much playable. There is no path finder like in RE6, and the cutseens have QTE's which kills you if you don't press the right buttons.
I haven't played RE3, but I could imagine it's like RE4, which is not playable.
