I just use reapers built in sampler 5000 Click on the browse button Then pick a clip from the file I wanna listen through and click open Now just above browse will be a drop down box with all your sounds from that

Another way of doing that is by using media player classic home cinema. Go to a folder, open the first file with that, then press page down and page up within the application to have the rest of the sounds in the

Ah, nice. I wasn't going to comment on Reaper because I'm not that familiar with it. I've been wanting to try using it for some soundscape production though, and that info is a good start.

yup, reaper can do it from its own little built in media explorer. I do it for previewing loops and things to insert and use into my projects. You can also change rate (somewhat) and pitch from there before

Yeah, Gold Wave works pretty well for this, though if you're like me and have a whole bunch of files in one folder, you may run into its txt file support. The only txt files it supports are in a special format

@CrystalD, I'm not sure whether it is or isn't. I don't use REAPER that much to be honest (though I really, really need to sit down someday and actually figure out).

Yup yup I use gold wave to do that sort of thing. Will have to try it in reaper though, didn't know that was a feature.

GoldWave and SoundForge can do this. (I wouldn't recommend Sound Forge though... it's been sold to another company and is now a complete peace of shit.) To do it in gold wave, check the box in the open dialog marked
