Re: strange experience with finding my iPhone

It'd have been nice if on the site there was a checkbox to indicate if it was stolen or not. I've never used this feature with my IPhone, so no clue.

Re: strange experience with finding my iPhone

true, but that makaes an unnecessary change, if you're just logging in to make it play a sound, so you can find it.

Re: strange experience with finding my iPhone

Still, that was my first thought. If you're signing in from a computer, it's probable that you're going to want to do a find/remote wipe. If you're finding and wiping devices, it could be because they're presumed stolen. If that's the case, you would actually want your Apple ID password to be different from that stored on the phone itself so whoever winds up with your phone can't do horrible things to your account. Just my thoughts.

Re: strange experience with finding my iPhone

It wasn't the phone's password that got changed, it was for my whole apple ID! It was created about a year ago. Anyway, yeah, weird stuff.

Re: strange experience with finding my iPhone

While I don't have a Iphone, it could maybe be because of safety. True, in this example your phone was just lost, but it could have been stolen, and then I guess Apple would want you to change the password, so nobody can get in your phone.

Re: strange experience with finding my iPhone

When was the last time you changed your Apple password? I bet they made you change it because your password doesn't fit into their rules anymore. For example, if you made a basic password 2 years ago and it only consisted of lowercase letters, it would force you to change it now since the rules have changed and the password you were using before is considered weak. It only forces you to change it on their site which explains why you could go for so long without changing it.

strange experience with finding my iPhone

Ok, I ended up misplacing my phone. I tried to call it, but I found that the amount of time that the facetime rang wasn't saficient to here where it was and get it. I went to find it with the Find My iPhone thing on iCloud for web, it makes me log in, as usual, but then it forces me to change my apple ID password, before I could find the damn thing by meas of playing a sound which wouldn't end until I shut it up, so I begrudgingly change my password, and find the phone. Why in heaven above would apple make me change my fucking password, just to find a fucking phone? What the fuck is up with that?
