Re: teaching english to a sighted child
Re: teaching english to a sighted child Can the child use a tablet? That would really help both of you find a common means of working.I'm currently in a master specialising in English Language Teaching. I think I had a document where one of our professors compiled a document which had numerous sites with useful resources for learners of all ages. I'd definitely recommend checking out Jeremy Harmer's book "The practice of English Language Teaching"; it's a great work if you're into teaching English. Re: teaching english to a sighted child
Re: teaching english to a sighted child With all due respect mongoo but I think there's no other way of recognizing the hand-writing. The only instance I've heard of hand-writing being recognized is when you type on the iphone using the hand-writing mode and it tries to recognize the text. However, I haven't even considdered that option yet because I have no idea about how the hand-written form of a letter might look like so I can't test it. I've been, unfortunately, taught only braille in school so I can't get a grasp of what it means to write by hand. Re: teaching english to a sighted child
Re: teaching english to a sighted child I highly doubt that scanning hand-writing is duable, as far as I know there's no optical character recognition for the hand-written form of the letters. Thanks for the suggestion anyway, I'll look into it. teaching english to a sighted child
teaching english to a sighted child Hello everyone.I have to teach a sighted chid english. It is part of my job and I have no idea how to go about it. I can teach him how to speak propperly, I can teach him reading because I have the books he's using in school and I can follow these but i'm having problems when it comes to writing. I'm looking for any usefull ressources for a blind teacher, perhaps some educational games, I can play with him. The child is about 9 so I don't want to do anything too serious with him because I know that at that age it's very difficult to concentrate for longer periods of time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.BTW, I'm teaching english as a second language.
