Re: weird steam issue upon installation Rather than reinstalling Steam, change the desktop Steam shortcut's path to add -language English. Once you fire it up, it'll be switched back to English. That's what i did when I reinstalled and it seemed to work first time, though it's tricky to get it working guaranteed.
