For me it starts with NVDA, JAWS, Dropbox, winero tweaker, Office, Winamp, Chrome, Q-Read, ABBYY Fine reader, Kurzweil, iTunes, Audacity, Goldwave, and I think that's it.It takes me almost 7 hours to properly set up my laptop as I want it. That includes installing apps, tweaking settings, and structuring files as I had them on my older laptop or before formatting my current laptop. I do this process every one year or ten months. Well this depends on all systems I service I install.1. directx latest.2. all visual c runtimes from 2005 to the present day.3. vb6 extended, the vb6 libraries, office compatability packs if I need to though not working with latest office releases so don't do that currently anymore.Nvda, and the addons I need, zoom, skype, 7zip, cd burner xp, acrobat, chrome and the new edge.All optional features and all speech extra voice packages from the right settings of course.I know half of these things are language packs.I have a library of universal apps including alexa I also install.The codecguide klite pack, and java.On my personal system chocolatey and nodejs for npm, github, my games, vmware workstation for my vms, winaero tweaker and ribbon disabler.ccleaner portable is on all my systems I do admin as well.Thunderbird and waterfox.If I had to take it down, I could manage on 7zip, thunderbird, waterfox classic, adobe reader, cd burner xp and jarte.I also have itunes but I guess I could manage wint 7zip ccleaner portable, thunderbird and waterfox classic if I had to.Most of what I install are runtimes and the like for older games. Hi there,well, for Windows, I also go to ninite.com, and crossing the list from top to bottom, I check everything I think I'll possibly need.That means, Firefox, Chrome (my default browser), Thunderbird, VLC, 7-zip, malware bytes, CD burner XP (yes, there are still cases when I need to burn a DVD), Acrobat, Nvda, Python and Java JDK.After that, the second round of installation - Wintalker voice (Slovak speech synthesizer), Jaws (which I personally prefer over NVDA), VisualStudio (and all respective parts such as .net sdk for Desktop, Web, mobile etc.), Microsoft Office 2013 (yes, I need it, as Jaws doesn't read special characters in Libre office correctly, otherwise I would get rid of it as soon as possible) and Autohotkey with my Keyjutsu project for efficient computer usage without needing to remember lot of shortcuts.The third round of installation, security measures, includes installing security related software, which I use to build a strong defence line to protect my pc and especially data from spyware and any kind of damage. My multilayered defence system includes a whole bunch of security tools aimed for malware protection, rootkit protection, sandboxing, anonymous and efficient web browsing, adds blocking and more.And the final, fourth round, runs usually for few months, and includes software which I'll need sooner or later, but which I'm too lazy to install in the start. This includes wxPython binaries, SageMath, Various programming languages such as Rust, Ruby or Lua, CCleaner, Pontes media downloader, Goldwave, Veracrypt (technically a part of third round, but I'm usually too lazy to set it up immediately), Freemake converters for conversions, Pandoc for Markdown, MinGW for G++ and other gnu tools, Fritz 16 for playing chess, and many, many more.All of these programs are of course those which actually need installation. There is as a bonus bunch of other software, like my Ride code editor, which technically doesn't need installation and thus is available as soon as I move in my data, or join the external partition, if I use shared storage.It's quite amazing, how many programs one uses for all sorts of things. When I reinstall windows or if I get a new computer I go to www.ninite.com and download winamp, 7 zip, google drive, nvda, acrobat reader and chrome. After that I start reinstalling the software when I need them. Usually I continue by installing office because I mainly work with that.
