First, the only way to read tts subs is through sapi. You need to find any anime that has an external subtitle file eg srt, .sub, etc. Or if you can find anime in MKV format which is pretty easy these days, the internal subtitles will also

The program isnt accessible without a little fiddling... just press the applications key and itll work like anything else. Access the preferences by pressing f2.

The players use a custom firmware interface called Rockbox, which, among other things, lets you use speech. but all of the speech is pre-recorded... so it isnt tts persay. I dont exactly remember how the process works... since I said in the itunes

Look on any sites that deal with torrents for stuff coming out of Asia... and the latest episodes should be uploaded somewhere. KM player is essentially a media player, buut with the ability to read soft subtitles aka .srt files out loud using sapi.

lol. How did you finally get it to work... you should be looking for subtitle processing, expand it, and then go to multisub / etc. Then tab around and youll find the list of tabs. Text to speech is the one you want. Did you get a chance to listen to that clip?

Nope. Ive never found transcripts of anime.. at least, none that are reliable. If you can, find external srt subtitles to match the anime file names... because it reads those better. I think its something to do with the internal subtitles that a lot of mkv files use.

The same tab where you check the box to read subtitles, there are controls for volume and speech rate, as well as voices. so it all comes down to what voices you have in stalled. though as I said earlier, I wish someone would take this feature further.
