On the plus side, the forest itself is fun, there are some nice treasures, and even a random intrusion from another universe which makes the rumours of an out of focus landrover seen in the shire in the Lotr film sound tame! I wonder if the other Sam ruby middle earth adventures from Edx are going to be converted next. The ring of doom, was an amusing slaughter fest with an insanely huge orc army at one point, though sort of amusing just to hack butcher and slay your way to mount doom, however the one I'd love to see is Iron prison, since what is more epic than going deep into the bowels of Angband in the elder days to take on Sauron's own boss, Morgoth himself! The difficulty of the enemies in that one was also nicely scaled to god like battle as well, so a good use for your super pumped up characters.

Okay, strangely enough my char, the mighty Dark  seems to be back now. I tried tabbing as Kenshira said rather than using k, and that worked, then I tried using K and that also worked. Nice I don't have to completely start again from scratch.Obviously the issue is not that characters are not being saved, but sometimes that the mainhall page  just has slightly wonky display.

Re: Aeamon Remastered

I don't think that's the problem, though. When you shift+tab back through the elements on the page (I'm using NVDA but this command is a Windows one so it might not matter), you can see the delete buttons. You can't activate them, but they still show. Only the delete buttons, mind you, but their presence would indicate you haven't lost your characters, just that Chrome and the site aren't playing nice with the display.I can see the things in Firefox, so I am going to assume this problem is specific to Chrome and this game in particular, and move on.I really don't think the cookie was tampered with, as I've had no issues like this with any other game I've played in Chrome.

Okay this is indeed odd. When I first went to the site and used the "enter the main hall" link, my character showed up fine, now it's happening just as you describe, I see the "create a new adventurer" link, but the link to my old adventurer (inventively called dark), has utterly vanished. This is very annoying since he had all stats over 20, had learned all of the spells and  was carrying a pretty intimidating weapon, even if he still needed to raise some of the weapon skills. i hope the site's save system hasn't gone wonky.

Re: Aeamon Remastered

I've been using Chrome over here, so I don't think chrome is the problem, it's more likely to be something with the cookie storage on your computer, since even if you don't have the facebook login your adventurers should stil show up as long as you haven't got rid of the cookie. I know with C cleaner it's necessary to actually specify which cookies you want to keep and which to delete, so they don't get removed when you do a clean, if you do other methods for cookie cleaning such as having them auto deleted when you exit chrome, that  would certainly interfere with saving.

Re: Aeamon Remastered

The game uses cookies to store your adventurer information locally on your machine, so as long as your happy with that you can just stick around. To store it more permanently or play on multiple accounts you need to login with facebook, though I don't remember if it redirects you to facebook or not, or if you need to login with facebook on your computer, then go back to the eamon site to have the login recognised. In general for cookie management, I use C cleaner to manually select what cookies I want to keep, including all game saves for games like Trimps, infincrawl or eamon, and then delete any I don't want.I will say though, it might be nice if Eamon would use a system like gamefab, even if the developer doesn't want to create his own account/username login system.

The number under the adventure title is the official eamon's club  number, for those that have them.If I remember rightly star rating is over all quality, book rating is difficulty of puzzles, and sword rating is difficulty of combat, but since all of these are created by user reviews you can largely just go with what you fancy/what your character can take. I'd recommend myself going through some of the beginner adventures to build up capital and your character first, then just going with what appeals, indeed this to me is one of the nicest things with the eamon system, that all the random trasure you loot can be turned into cold hard cash which you can then spend on various improvements in the main hall. I'd certainly not recommend trying mines of moria with an underpowered character, since Sam Ruby liked his tough combats, (although hopefully it won't be as staggeringly insane as Iron prison ), and if Derik Jeter's second adventure is like his first, it'll probably be full of strong enemies too.

Okay great news for Eamon fans, indeed I really should have checked the news page earlier myself.Eamon remastered news wrote:New Adventure: The Mines of MoriaDec. 28, 2020The latest adventure on Eamon Remastered is The Mines of Moria by prolific Eamon author Sam Ruby. Sam wrote a trilogy of adventures set in Middle Earth, of which this is the first. It's an old-fashioned hack-n-slash adventure where you'll tear through hordes of Sauron's orcs and trolls, along with a few other surprises. Bring your magic battle axe for this one!In case you're wondering, I'm also working on converting the second and third adventures from this trilogy. They should be arriving within the next few weeks.New Adventure: The Treachery of ZoragAug. 16, 2020The latest new adventure is a big one: The Treachery of Zorag by Derek C. Jeter. This is one of the newest adventures in the Eamon catalog, first written in 2015. It's the largest adventure by room count in the entire catalog, and has a number of advanced features like food and rest management and different types of environments (city, country, dungeon, swamp, etc.) with their own unique weather. The Treachery of Zorag also has an interesting history to it. Derek first wrote it for Eamon Deluxe, but that system was no longer being maintained by the time he finished it. Before its release here on Eamon Remastered, its only published form was as a Java applet Derek used to publish it as a standalone adventure. Now, it's available within the broader Eamon universe, as originally intended.Bring a few sheets of paper if you're going to map this one out! It's a big map.. Mines of Moria is a fun outing, I remember enjoying this one in Eamon deluxe, and I'll be looking forward to playing Sam's other middle earth adventures again.I remember reading about  Derik Jeter's new adventure on the main Eamon website and hoping that it got ported to Eamon remastered, since I really enjoyed Derik's first adventure Stronghold of Kar'dur, which I played back in 2013 when it was first released for Eamon deluxe, indeed the review I wrote in the edx news letter is likely still kicking around on the world of Eamon website. So nice Derik's adventures are now able to be played again.

Re: Aeamon Remastered

@KenshiraTheTrinity, that was partly why I suggested the trophy room idea. It'd probably be hard to put some sort of completion record in the adventures themselves, since a lot of the older Eamon games didn't have a set completion for adventures or a way of tracking when you'd got all the loot etc, but buying a trophy when you'd finished an adventure yourself would be  nice way for people to keep track, as well as a way to carry out Eamon lore, especially with all those adventures which involve recovering some sort of lost object or other.

Eamon remastered news wrote:A few UI and game play updatesApril 19, 2020Just a quick note describing a few recent upgrades to the adventure UI:The "Command List" button now shows a popup with a lot more information, including descriptions and examples for each command. When the game asks you a Yes/No or multiple choice question during play, you can now answer the question with a key press rather than having to click buttons with the mouse. The active key is usually the first letter of the choice, unless more than one choice begins with the same letter. The active key for each option is underlined.I also fixed a bug in the command recall feature. That is the feature that lets you scroll through past commands by using the up and down arrow keys.In addition, I'm working on standardizing some of the game logic. Several recent adventures have some sort of commerce system in them. Since Eamon Classic and Eamon Deluxe didn't have a built-in BUY command, the original authors all implemented this a little differently. I'm updating these to show what is for sale in the current room, and to work in the same way. Most recently, I updated the Training Ground so that you can buy healing potions by typing "BUY POTION" instead of the old, obscure "GIVE 100 TO BOZWORTH."One of the limitations of early Eamon systems was the inflexibility of the armor types. You basically got to use one of the three types of armor (leather, chain, or plate) and a shield. Eamon Remastered supports a number of different armor types like magic shields, scale armor, helmets, and protection rings. Unlike the earlier systems, these can be brought back to the Main Hall and kept permanently, just like weapons. However, the only new armor type that Marcos sells in the Main Hall is the scale armor. Other armor items have to be found in adventures.New Adventure: Malleus MaleficarumApril 6, 2020At long last, it's time for a completely new addition to the Eamon adventure catalog: Malleus Maleficarum by yours truly. Keith Dechant. This is an Eamon Remastered exclusive, following the journey to a nearby land that has outlawed magic and is conducting a witch hunt against all magic users. Your quest is to rescue a friend's grandmother and investigate a militant anti-magic organization called the Cobalt Front. This adventure focuses heavily on NPC interactions, with the TALK and BUY commands featuring prominently in the story. The Cobalt Front is a very lawful organization, at least when it comes to magic and magic weapons, and you can easily find yourself getting into trouble with the law if you're not careful. There are other things happening in the land of Virrat, too, and you'll find yourself battling some bizarre creatures as you learn what's really going on.New Adventure: The Well of the Great OnesDec. 30, 2019"Evenhold is in great danger!" you are told one day over drinks in the Main Hall. Rumors tell of zombies marauding through the countryside, and of strange magics deep in the Arcosian Swamp. Beware, adventurer, for the Great Old Ones may rise from their eternal slumber! This is the latest adventure ported to Eamon Remastered, The Well of the Great Ones by Mike Ellis. This is a frightening journey into a world threatened by Lovecraftian monsters, and an eldritch cult intent on summoning the most horrific beasts from outer worlds. The Well is a somewhat forgotten treasure among Eamon adventures. It was only partially completed by its original author back in the 1990s. Eamon Adventurers' Guid president Tom Zuchowski accepted the challenge to finish it himself for the Apple II. He mostly succeeded, but for a few missing pieces that prevented the quest from being totally completed. The Eamon Remastered version fixes the incomplete threads and ties up a few loose ends in the storyline, while attempting to preserve the horror of the original writing. Give it a try, if you dare.New Adventure: The Manxome FoeNov. 30, 2019The latest adventure ported to Eamon Remastered is The Manxome Foe by Ray Olszewski. This is a fun, whimsical adventure based on the novel Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll. It is a land full of fanciful creatures, some friendly and some not so friendly. When you reach the woods, you'll find that you don't necessarily make it to every room in the adventure each time you play. Consider that you are but a pawn on a great chessboard and it will make sense. (Notice that the woods is eight rooms wide, even.)“And, as in uffish thought he stood,   The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,   And burbled as it came!”“One, two! One, two! And through and through   The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!He left it dead, and with its head   He went galumphing back.”. This is just a quick update so people know that yes, the system is still in development, indeed I love the idea of Eamon remastered having original adventures. Eamon deluxe had

Eamon remastered news wrote:New Adventure: Dracula's ChateauOct. 13, 2019This month's new adventure is a Halloween special! It's Dracula's Chateau by Paul Braun, who was also one of the authors of the classic adventure, Caves of Treasure Island. This adventure has quite a few special features, including a monster that can disappear into walls. Remember everything you learned in books and movies about how to fight various horror monsters. Hint: The flintlock pistol only has one bullet. Pay attention to what kind of bullet it is and wait for the right monster to use it on.Interesting news, particularly since this one never appeared with Eamon deluxe so it's a new one for me.

Cool, Stronghold of Kahr-Dur was a lot of fun and one of the more advanced eamons, (you probably saw my review in the edx news letter), so glad to see its back, along with the inventory and smile commands. As to checking an npc's inventory, I'm fairly sure realm of fantasy lets you do that, since as I remember toto is being carried by Dorothy, and the only way of getting him as a companion is to ask Dorothy to give him to you, then drop him.

Also, an update:I published the port of Stronghold of Kahr-Dur and also added the Inventory and Smile commands back in.Inventory will show what you or a friendly NPC is carrying and also the NPC's health status. For hostile and neutral NPCs, it will only tell you their ready weapon. Currently, it doesn't give any additional information about the items. I couldn't find an example of Eamon Deluxe doing that; however, it might have existed in a different version. If anyone knows which specific version of Classic Eamon or Eamon Deluxe had that feature, let me know.I'm trying to work on a few improvements for the mobile and screen reader interfaces next.

Re: Aeamon Remastered

If the game gets stuck at the "Waking up the monsters" screen, that indicates some kind of error happened. In that case, the best advice is to hit your browser's refresh button and try again. Your character auto-saves when you leave the Main Hall, so this is safe to do.If you get stuck on the loading screen repeatedly, please file a bug ticket on GitHub at https://github.com/kdechant/eamon/issues

Still, its up to you. As I said, I'm personally really pleased I can play Eamon again and look forward to seeing what games come out next.

Re: Aeamon Remastered

@bookrage,  Ironically, I never played Eamon back in the day either myself. I ran across the Eamon deluxe program in 2008 whilst researching Adora entertainment's abortive audio Eamon adventurer's guild project. I was amazed that Eamon deluxe worked with my screen reader, and loved what adventures I could play. The style is often simple, but in this case there's enough there to be fun, and unlike with standard if not too many commands to frustrate on a guess the verb puzzle. Adventures with "beginner" next to them mean low stats and starting marcos weapons, but still are worth playing for atmosphere and monster murder. Others can get pretty tough in terms of bad guy strength, meaning high stats are needed.@Brad Yeah, it'd be handy if NvdA would read incoming text, (as its written don't know about Jaws), but as it doesn't at the moment  choices are either to leave the edit box and read the screen then return to type the next command,  arrow up and read the last bit of text before writing the next bit. Then again, as I first played Eamon with supernova and had to switch to the dolphin curser and do pretty much the same thing, this doesn't feel too different for me.

I was never really old enough to enjoy the game so particularly pleased with it, I did "The pirate Cave" and wasn't sure if how well I did was because I was doing a beginner world, I had what I think are high stats (16/18/11) or a combo of the two. It was pretty fun though and I got a nice pistol from it. I was using clubs up to that point but this pistol is nothing to sneeze at. Also got enough money to raise my charisma to 12 too.But thinking I'm going to play this one for a while.

Re: Aeamon Remastered

eSince when not running in Vi mode Eamon deluxe version 5.0 automatically runs the games in dosbox that would make sense. As I remember though, there were far fewer adventures in v4 than in v5, just some of donald brown's I think and the none modified versions of Jim Jacobsons, and most of the donald brown ones like tomb of Molina and lair of the minotaur were basic dungeon outings, still fun as far as they go but not really anything more surprising than a lot of the beginner Eamons. It was odd, even though I first got into Eamon in 2008 when I tried out eamon deluxe, there really wasn't actually too much to do in that version. I'm still sorry Frank black seems to have fallen off the map and Edx isn't being developed anymore, since I would've liked to see more of the classic games ported.Edit; okay had a quick play through treasure island (another adventure I didn't play before).  I'm really missing that inventory command, especially when  trying to work out what stuff to drop when your load gets too heavy, as well as the break down of all the loot you get along the way with each adventure when you sell your stuff to Sam slicker. I also  notice that though you can give weapons to npcs, they don't tend to use them, though I'm not sure if that is a function of each adventure or not as in the Eamons I played with Edx, sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't.https://www.fantasticfiction.com/m/anne … ndrums.htmIt'd also be nice if some of the features from the Edx main hall made it into Eamon remastered to give you some extra stuff  to use your gold on, and I don't just say that because I came up with the names and descriptions of them in the Edx manual and on the Eamon wiki . One thing I always liked in Eamon was going out on a basic smash for cash outing, then coming back to sell off a huge pile of treasure so that I could improve all my characters skills and stats, and maybe save up to buy an uba awesome weapon along the way, it actually made a lot of the basic dungeon outings feel much more rewarding. Another idea I floated with Frank Black was to have a trophy cabinet. Since, barring some major programming each adventure does not have a completion flag, it wouldn't be possible to directly have awards for finishing each adventure added to a player's  data. However, I did  wonder if it might be possible to include trophies players could buy in the main hall with loot they got from adventures. Once bought, trophies would go into a trophy cabinet that a player could view as they wished, and make for a progressive achievement system, good for those like myself who want to play everything. of course, how this works in terms of the system you've got running for Eamon remastered I don't know, still, as I always loved trying out the different locations and seeing my adventurer have an actual ongoing career through various outings, it might be something to consider.Edit the second: Okay I am mildly irritated. I played through the magic kingdom but rescued the princess before trying the east or west trails and got sent straight home. I'd usually restore a saved game at that point, but I didn't ahve a choice. I hit back in the browser, and basically lost all progress from the adventure. So, perhaps a "restore" option before finishing might be nice to make sure you don't accidently walk out without going everywhere.

Re: Aeamon Remastered

I'm going to implement the INVENTORY and SMILE commands soon. At first, I thought they wouldn't be very useful any more, with the web interface. However, they probably have a lot of value for both mobile and screen reader users. I also have ideas for a few enhancements to the mobile interface. It's tricky to design for having the mobile keyboard open all the time, because it takes up almost half the screen, leaving even less room for text. The idea of meeting the same NPCs in multiple adventures, like in EDX, is something that should be possible. It might take a while before I get to it, because I have several other things to finish up first.FYI, my version of the Clone Master is a totally different adventure from the original. I wasn't a big fan of the changes Frank made in the EDX version. In the original, the guards and servants were all clones and thus had no unique personalities. Frank tried to give them their own personalities, which missed the point IMO. Plus, I thought that concept had a lot more potential than what Donald Brown gave it, so I expanded it a bit while keeping some throwbacks to the original.BTW, in Eamon Deluxe, there is a trick to play nearly all of the adventures that were "removed" from EDX 5.0. Go into the folder where the adventure files are (e.g., C:\EDX\C\EAMONDX\E002), delete the file INTRO.BAS, and rename the file INTRO4.BAS to INTRO.BAS. This makes them playable from the Main Hall. However, they still use the older code and some features may not work. (I haven't tried the VI mode, but I'm guessing that might be one thing that doesn't work perfectly.)

Re: Aeamon Remastered

@kdechant cool, glad assault on the clone master is back, I played that in an older version of Eamon deluxe, but the final v5 didn't have it, or indeed lots of the original donald brown adventures, or at least if Frank planned to port them to the new system he never got around to it. Actually, I'm glad stronghold of Kar-dur is getting ported,  wrote up a review for it in one of the Edx news letters and it was a fun game.Reading through the  reviews, there  have been several I've very much fancied trying and never got to with edx, including caves of Eamon bluff which  apparently a take off  the beginner's cave, and several of John Nelson's and Sam Ruby's. In Edx itself, I loved what frank did with the Jim JAcobson adventures making them almost like a huge multipart quest and adding so many expantions etc, it'd be a shame if that wasn't playable anymore, also Redemption and Curse of Talon by Sam Ruby I really enjoyed and am sorry I can't play on Windows 10. Thanks again  for providing the online access to Eamon, as you'll gather I'm quite the fan of Eamon and I've been missing it, and given that I no longer have an xp machine or a reliable way to run screen reading programs through Dosbox, its great there is still a way to play the Eamon games in modern times. @KenshiraTheTrinity, Eamon Deluxe 5.0 should  optimised for play with screen readers, though you might have to use jaws curser, object nav with NVdA or whatever way your screen reader has to read console windows. If your getting screen reader problems, its possible that your not using the Vi mode, this runs with a separate exe file and has a different start menu shortcut, one which does not use Dosbox. Its also possible you might just have reset the window to the wrong size and just need to hit shift enter.

Re: Aeamon Remastered

Thanks to this site I can play the games on my android phone without having to resort to some inaccessible dosbox program. I have the site appended to my home screen. Unfortunately, some of the information found on the desktop version of the site don't show up on mobile, such as inventory artifacts, and npcs, basically the information about your character and surrounding shown below the command box, so I'm wondering if commands can be added to show the information. Apart from that, I totally dig this remaster.I still have a copy of deluxe and a working xp to play it on. Right now I'm in the middle of a game that starts with a fire in the great hall can't remember the name. One of the problems with the eamon deluxe is that many of the games have not yet been optimized for use in screen reader mode. Additionally, i heard that along with graphics, some of those old games had sound. Wonder if there would be a way to replicate that on this site?I'm just rambling at this point so I'll stop, but suffice it to say that I'm really enjoying this side project and please keep up the good work.

Re: Aeamon Remastered

Hi all,Just a quick update: I'm still working on new adventures and features. I just released a port of Attack of the Kretons a few days ago, and I'm working on porting Stronghold of Kahr-Dur next.Currently, my focus is on some gameplay improvements as well as porting some of the existing adventures. Those will include Apple II Eamon adventures, classic adventures that were ported to Eamon Deluxe, and adventures that were written from scratch in Eamon Deluxe. Brand-new adventures are also possible; currently there is one new one, my own rewrite of Assault on the Clone Master, which is actually a brand-new adventure loosely based on the original. Please keep in mind that I'm doing this as a hobby and not making any money on it, so progress might be slow. I would eventually like to port as many adventures as I can, but it's rare that I have time to add more than one a month. Here's what you can do to help:1. Play adventures and report any bugs through the GitHub issues page at https://github.com/kdechant/eamon/issues2. Suggest adventures from classic Eamon or Eamon Deluxe that you would like to see ported. This helps me know which ones are people's favorites. Believe it or not, I have only played about 90 of the 270+ total adventures out there, so I have probably missed some good ones.3. Help spread the word. Post about Eamon Remastered on social media or other forums that you visit. I keep track of anonymous usage statistics. The more people play the game, the more excited I will be about adding new adventures and features.4. Get involved. Write a new adventure or help port an existing one. The Eamon Remastered game engine uses _javascript_ for the game logic, which is a language many people already know. Also, like Eamon Deluxe, the base game engine has a lot of standard capabilities built in, like locked doors, containers, bound monsters, etc. This makes it possible to create a fairly complex adventure without even writing much code. The GitHub page (https://github.com/kdechant/eamon) contains instructions for getting started.

Re: Aeamon Remastered

~Bookrage, there were several new eamon games written for Eamon deluxe in 2013 and 14, as well as some upgrades to some old adventures that made them virtually new games, EG Frank Black rewrote cave of the mind to be about twice the length of the original and have a seriously cool ending, and also wrote a framing story and repeat appearances by characters in all the Jim Jacobson adventures. While unfortunately I don't think Eamon remastered is using the Eamon deluxe versions of those adventures, I do wonder what will happen, especially with really awesome new adventures like runsible cargo and citadel of kar-dur. New adventures might be possible, though  there are several of the classics that sound frankly amazing, plus since I can't run eamon deluxe anymore on windows  Eamon remastered is the only way I can play some of those adventures, which is sad if the EDx ones are going to fall by the wayside.

I'm wondering if Eamon Remastered will ever actually add anything that isn't just a port. I'm not a player of Eamon at any time but it would be cool to hear. "Here is all this old stuff... and we've got brand new stuff on top of that."Of course there would be no need for that for a while as there are so many old Eamon Modules that still aren't up yet, but it would be cool to see the legacy continuing with actual adventures that were never on any of the old versions or even the indepenedent ones as well.

Wow interesting news on the Eamon remastered site: Eamon remastered news wrote:New Adventure: The Quest for the Holy GrailMay 5, 2019And now for something completely different. This month's addition to the Eamon Remastered catalog is none other than the Monty Python-inspired classic, The Quest for the Holy Grail. Fight the fearsome Black Knight, seek out a shrubbery, and beware death itself, with nasty, pointy teeth. Nee!I'd like to thank programmer, author, and long-time Eamon fan Josh de Lioncourt for his hard work on bringing this adventure to Eamon Remastered. You'll notice a few additional changes to the game with this release. Group monsters now behave a lot more intelligently. The group members can now flee independently of each other, and even end up in different places. In addition, I have made a handful of accessibility improvements to make Eamon Remastered easier to play with a screen reader. So, not only Monty python inspired awesomeness, but also screen reader fixes, and apparently the chief programmer of Draconis is now working on the ports too? Then again, since it was Adora entertainment back in the day that had the hole plan for the Eamon audiogame, which was actually what lead me to discover Eamon deluxe in 2008 and then get into the hole Eamon thing, I suppose that's not too surprising.

Sorry about the miner threadcromancy here, but Eamon remastered now has a db page: https://audiogames.net/db.php?id=Eamon%20Remastered Plus, checking the website it seems there have been new releases, indeed since the last game port was february, it seems this one is going rather well, and hopefully more Eamons will be ported soon.I'm still a little sorry we haven't heard from Frank Black, he was a jolly nice guy, someone I actually got to be friends with via email, and these days with some of thge work that has gone into screen reader friendly dos emulation, I bet a workaround for Eamon Deluxe and dosbox would be possible. Until however I hear from Frank again, hat probably won't be happening, and in the mean time its awesome someone has taken up the reigns with Eamon and is doing such a great job, - there are even a number of adventures here not part of Eamon deluxe, such as polaris. I just wish  the developer could port a few more extended main hall features over from Eamon deluxe, including the giant, the fountain the mystic and the casino, though at least he's got the most important person, the witch with her stat training.

So I've been really enjoying this one lately, especially on my phone. I'm quite over browser games, but I'm more than happy to make this the exception. Some of the extended main hall features have since been added. Only issue I'm having is that when I am playing on my phone using chrome, I can't see the character sheet under the edit field, so I don't know my friends or foes, my inventory or money, my weapon's dieroll or anything displayed there, and the inventory and smile commands don't exist to help with that yet. Wonder if there is a solution.Really appreciate the work on this project though. Thanks so much and looking forward to more updates.

Re: Aeamon Remastered

[[wow]] this is awesome indeed! I have been missing edx ever since I got windows 10 and wondering what to do. I was hoping the talking dosbox project might help with edx but again I'm not sure what has happened to Frank Black as crashmaster said. I hope he's okay, in 2012-14 Edx development was going strong, more adventures got ported, you'll even find some of my reviews from me in edx news letters, but then Frank Black dropped off the map. I did get a mail from him in 2016 apologizing for his absence but though I replied he didn't get back to me.Either way this looks like a great project. The only thing I'm sorry about currently is that a lot of the Edx tweaks don't seem to have made it into eamon Remastered. Particularly,  the extended version of the Text main hall which included a lot of options for using the gold you gained from progressive adventures to expand your character doesn't seem to be there. this is a shame, since otherwise there aren't really ways to increase your hardiness, agility and charisma other than by cheating in a few adventures. Also, I wonder if some of the adventures like the Jim Jacobson ones are the originals, or have Frank blacks additions from Edx. Then again on the plus side, there are several Eamon adventures here that I've not played beforee and weren't available in edx such as curse of the hellblade and cliffs of fire, which is good, it's also really awesome to be able to play Eamon on my windows 10 machine. This will definitely be getting a db page soon, and I look forward to seeing more Eamon adventures ported across, since to say I've been a huge Eamon fan ever since I first discovered Eamon deluxe in 2008, I haven't played that much of Eamon catalogue, which is a shame.

Aeamon Remastered

Official Web Sitehttps://eamon-remastered.comReview From Wade ClarkeEamon keeps on chugging in Eamon RemasteredAbout Eamon, From Eamon Remastered's  Author Keith DechantFar away, at the dead center of the Milky Way, is the planet Eamon. It doesn't orbit any suns, two great suns orbit it! The shifting pull from these great bodies bring strange forces to bear upon this planet; twisting light, tides, even the laws of science itself! Strange things happen on Planet Eamon, and the citizens must always be adaptable, for things are rarely what they seem, and quite often not the same as they were from one day to the next!Eamon is played through characters who are members of the famous Free Adventurer's Guild. Free Adventurers are men and women who have dared to seek their fortune in the marvelous world of shifting laws and time. Players will often find their characters fighting terrible monsters such as orcs, trolls, and dragons, and claiming various riches and treasure as their own. However, Planet Eamon is bound by no laws of time or space. Anything can happen once an adventure has been started. At any random time, a character could end up facing such varied opponents as Billy the Kid or Darth Vader!Eamon HistoryEamon is a text adventure game with RPG elements. The original game was written for the Apple ][ by Donald Brown, circa 1980.Eamon is notable for its modular design, allowing the same player character to explore many different adventures. Over the years, many authors contributed hundreds of adventures to the Eamon universe. In the 1990s came Eamon Deluxe by Frank Black, a port of the Eamon system to MS-DOS, with a number of enhancements. Frank's work is the basis for this web conversion. How does Eamon remember my character?Any characters you create are stored within your web browser, using a feature called "local storage." This makes it simple to get started, because you don't have to create an account or log in. It does, however, mean that your characters don't transfer between computers, or between different browsers on the same computer. What technology is Eamon built on?"Classic" Eamon was written in Applesoft BASIC. Eamon Deluxe is also written in BASIC and requires an MS-DOS emulator such as DOSBox.At the time when Classic Eamon was created, BASIC was the default language that every programmer knew. When I decided to undertake this conversion, it made sense to again choose a language programmers in the 2010s are familiar with. Thus, I ported the game logic to _javascript_. Specifically, this system runs TypeScript and Angular. This has the benefit of keeping the entire game engine within the browser, making the system very fast. The adventure data is stored in a MySQL database with a Django back end.
