Python is not a bad choice, and is often recommended as a good place to start because of its easy to pick up, lots of documentation, and strong community... Speaking of which, congradulations! You're talking to a bunch of programmers, heh. There are lots of resources to go with, paying being just one. I'd suggest downloading [Python] and starting either with some of the local tutorials like those from [amerikranian] or with the basics with some of the free python books floating around, like [The Python Practice Book], [Dive Into Python], [Think Python], [A Byte Of Python], [Slither Into Python], etc. Note that some of the books may have graphical elements, don't feel you have to do those. After you've gotten a good hold of the basics, variables, loops, if statements, etc. Then you can move on to libraries that handle things like audio, keyboard input, windows, TTS, etc. If you have any questions or need any examples, just ask. Re: Classes for learning new information about programming? Also, what do you mean by classes? There are a number of ways you can learn to program. Some of it may consist of you exploring on your own. There are coding tutorial courses, there are literal online classes into which you can enroll, and there are even archived online classes offered by big-name universities like MIT or Stanford. Some are free and others are paid. Paid curriculum allow the benefit of learning through a structured approach. Just some things to keep in mind.
