To hopefully not spoil too much of the game: When playing the game trying to solve puzzles, don't just try out the things that make sense to you. If you are really clueless, try moving around, at some point expect or interact with items more carefully (even if you think it wouldn't get you any further), combine things in your pocket (if it works out, perhaps the description of those new items might get you some extra clues) and try to cast some spells, even if you don't think you have to.I know it is a pain-in-the-ass, but I think I would have been truly disappointed if everything was ruined by reading a walkthrough.Let's just say it's not Chillingham, for example, and the way you solve the puzzles in Sound Of Magic is basically some sort of combination of logic, randomness and perhaps luck as well. SPOILERGood lord, I would have still been stuck if I hadn't read that Chillingham walkthrough which explained that, at a certain point of the game, you had to search through the books in the library for one particular book and even if you know what you are up for, it sometimes takes AGES for this damn book to show up! Anyway, I really had a hell of a laugh when playing the game solving the puzzles due to the funny voices and dialogs.However, I'm not sure if this game would be an ideal solution to efficiently learn German; sometimes, the language is kinda middle-age based.Although, I would laugh my head off if some of you non-German speakers play through the game, come to Germany and greet us by repeating some of the phrases used in Sound Of Magic."Du siehst verkohlt aus, Zwerg!""Husch, hinfort mit Euch!" With all the fun aside, I do know friends who would do exactly that, and I just recommended them to put their hands on this game, so see you soon in Germany, guys! My games progress is seriusly broken. Some puzzles I have solved don't seam to be solved, even though the game thinks they are.For example, I can't access the dream seller in the harbur district anymore because the metal grate is apparently still tightly fitted to the metal pipe, but when I remove it with the dimension reformer, my character only says that he should concentrate on the stealing thoughts spell. I went back to the royal district and stole the thought from that royal sleeping dude, but still the same result. But when I use the read thoughts spell on the pipe, it's wondering where it has placed the metal grate. When I want to go to the tavern, my character says that he should go back to the castle, but there is nothing there, only Asrug who I congradulated for his birthday already.Also, in the royal district, the day ambiance is playing, even though everyone is apparently sleeping. They were all awake though before i did the update.I can't do any other spells than the thought stealing and mind reading one.Another thing was that in the trading district in the magical shop of the inventor, I got the woman out of the wardrobe again, she was quite happy that I removed the Troll from the mouse hole, but when i talk to her in the workshop, I get the generic responce that she is happy that I removed the Trol for her, and not the introduction to the inventor, which she as well gave me before the update.So, I hope you ge tmy problems with the game.Greetings Moritz. I'm glad I've even been able to make some progress in the game... The sounds and voice acting is amazing and quite fun. I like the way you interact with things. I don't fully get when you have to double tab with one finger, and when you have to swipe up. I love the way your inventory works.I have a question regarding the inventory: There is a choice which keeps stay there, no matter what inventory you have. Is that a drop choice, or cancel? I can't figure out what it does.I'm stuck at the following place:SpoilerI got an item from the guy who delivers the post, if I understand this correctly. The "briefcase" guy. I gave this item to the other character, your friend or what ever he is, and then I'm completely stuck. I'm giving some instructions which includes the left and right directions, but nothing happens at all when I swipe on the screen. I have no idea on what's going on, and I don't understand the instructions. I don't need anything spoiled, but just an explanation on what's going on, and the instructions translated into English if possible.I also look extremely much forward to the English version of the game. I already knew most of the puzzle solutions from the beta test though. So this is no measurement on real playing time.Its nice to see what this game developed to. And there is definitely some story telling improvement done. Also the high quality recordings are on point. Funny enough some voices made it from the beta version into the full product. I'm wondering if thats caused by budget issues but its amazing how well they blend into the mix of professional narrators. I might be biased but the voice acting of the pan is still the best in the whole game Even though I knew most of the plod and lots of the twists and turns I again had some serious fun playing this game another time. People should know what they pay for and I think getting the German version out to proof we have a quality game that is fun to play will really help to grow trust. In case we ask for money in before we want you to know where your money is going and that every dollar improves the quality of the game and not our living standards. An "all or nothing" kickstarter campaign would fit best to deal with this I guess. I think Everbyte was rather pointing at the fact that actual interested German speakers who do genuinely want to play the game right after release, because they are perfectly capable of doing so, understanding it and enjoying it, will come on and buy the game, and although there might not be exactly a thousand of German speaking customers, it will still help them to fill in the hole in the budget at least a bit. Unfortunately we were forced to slow down the development and do a bit of freelancer work for other companies since we literally had nothing to eat. We survived and now we’re back on track! The German Version of Sound of Magic will be released on December 10. We really hope we sell a bunch and can continue the work on the (even more expensive) english version, so all of you can enjoy our adventure. We learned a lot during the recording and production work of the German localization and im confident this will be reflected in the English version. Re: Sound of Magic - A fantastical journey for young and old adventurers Time for a little update:We already exceeded our project plan by a few month, but as long as there are things we dont like, we will continue to work on them untill everything feels right. We reworked some content and are (finally) about to finish the story and narration part of the project soon. As soon as this is is the case we will hand over the scripts to our localization partner to translate everything from german into english. To be able to immediately start the recordings once we get it back we're also working on the voice actor cast right now. Programming is also almost finished at least for the mobile versions. Some of our closed beta participants from this forum already finished the game and most really took their time to deliver huge amount of feedback.Thanks guys, we really appreciate you taking your time to help us improve our game and also thanks for all the kind words about our game! This means very much to us and helps us keeping up the work.By now we already fixed most of the bugs and findings of the testers and preparing a major update.A core element of the test was accessibility since we have little to no previous experience in this area. To make a long story short: The blind testers that already hand in their feedback by now, had minor to no problems to play from start to finish (including the menu), which is great and eliminated our biggest concerns! We will wait and see how the others do but seems like in general we’re on the right track with our „one version for all“ concept. We will extending the beta phase for a short amount of time, to be able to get more feedback from people with different experience in games and also to validate the improvements of the upcoming update. This means we’re open for a few more applications. As before, you have to be visually impaired and fluid German language skills are required. Please include some short information on you, your experience with games, if you have been blind since birth and wether you use Android or iOS. Ironically, my wife is fluent in German having spent 17 years living there, but I can only sing the odd song in it not play games . I think that, any time the nature of a game allows, that's absolutely the best way to go for accessibility. A separate accessibility mode is fine, and great when it's necessary—but any time that developers can make a game that can be played in the same way, by a variety of people, I think that's a huge win.
