On one hand, people telling somebody they are going to do something and then not doing it is quite irresponsible to say the least, especially multiple times. On the other hand, these games are most likely incomplete, and if he is so busy with school, then maybe he shouldn’t be making so many promises. I know what it is like to have a ton of ideas in your head. It’s quite hard to sort through them all, but that must be especially hard when you actually know how to put those ideas into a program and make it into a game. Can’t blame him, but hopefully this may teach him that you shouldn’t make promises you can’t keep, or at least that he should finish something before moving onto the next thing. It’s a shame really, because this game feels like quite the interesting small project, so if allowed to complete this, this could’ve been something groundbreaking, but if what he has done before is anything to go by, then maybe what we got now is all we are ever going to get, and I’m fine with that to be honest. perhaps he should consult with people who actually have time on their hands with his ideas, and only take part when and where he can. Re: rb studios's last gift, space mission To sum things up as kindly and as objectively as I can, the developer has a history of creating many small projects and quickly moving onto something else before fleshing out whatever he as working on with the previous project, and the players have grown dissatisfied with that behavior. Now, when he promised space mission, people got real excited, but based on peoples reaction to his very recent previous project, he decided to withhold on releasing space mission a day before it was scheduled for release in order to focus on rl things like school, thereby pissing a lot of people off. However, because of the people's negative reaction to him deciding to withhold the game, he decided to release it after all. Either way, people aren't happy with him for his actions and he can't seem to catch a break. I haven't payd for any game unless the ones I bought, so if there are a lot of bugs, and the dev doesn't respond or doesn't respond correctly, I'd most likely pass on it. If the game is payd, and the dev is not responding, I would most certainly write an email directly towards him because... Well, it's my right, it's my money. But if not, then there's no point on. This is getting annoying to see. I sort of figured this would happen, just looking at the reactions in the not being released topic. I can totally feel Rory. School is hard. I just finished 8th grade, but 6th and 7th really kicked me in the ass mentally. After those grades, I was in a horrible place. I lashed out, was a jerk, and just a horrible person. I'm still, quite honestly, recovering from that. I feel like my life will get less stress free now that a lot of my classes next year will be online but not everyone has that option and I'm sure that it'll still take it's tole on me. No doubt some of you at least have seen one of the times I lashed out. 8th grade wasn't as bad for me, but school is hard. I only really got into coding in 8th grade anyways. So give the dude a break. School is hard and you can't always keep all promises you make. This does, however, circle back to my statement that you really shouldn't give release dates, at least exact dates on games, or anything for that matter. I had an evil ship on the same tile as me and I tried the canons and the rapid fire laser on it. Didn't seem to do much, I ran out of energy to fire and eventually got blown up by it or another evil ship. I kinda understand what he's going through in school, because what many people seem to not realise is how bloody difficult it can be for blind persons in a mainstream school. Imagaine, this morning to complete some wwork in science I had to jump through 4 hoops, with my hands behind my back and feet tied. Teachers try their best to cator for you, but at the end of the day you're just one person in a class of over 30 students. It can be annoying and downright depressing to knoww you won't be able to do a simple thing of going to the bathroom because everyone thinks you're just a delicate little snowflake that's incapable of functioning by yourself. Yes, raising a family is hard, and yes Rory hasn't lived, but you have to understand people deal with things differently. And high school, especially being disabled isn't a picnic either. Either way, it’s obvious that we have a language barrier here. I suggest giving the poster some slack, would you like for people to do the same for you if you were speaking a foreign language? That old saying, treat others as you want to be treated, still holds true, and will do so until humanity dies out. I’m not going to give my common sense in regards to this release, folks have already seen it in some form or fashion. It will not contribute to anything. I gently suggest to keep on topic, though. Perhaps he might have been better waiting until matters were a bit more complete, but he's done as he promised, fair enough. In terms of age, remember that Philip Bennifall developed Tarzan Junior when he was 14, and look at some of the games Yukio Nozawa released. There is no rule that says someone as a teenager cannot code a game.What I am more concerned about at this moment, is whether Rori specifically can get a game into a complete enough state to be really viable. Each project I've seen of his, rori boxing, rori farm and so on has had definite potential, indeed in the topic regarding putting Rori farm into the db he posted in sight and forum feedback, I offered what I hoped were constructive suggestions on how to improve the game. I personally don't doubt Rori's ability to put together a decent enough game, an ability which will likely grow with time, what I am however a little more concerned about is his ability to get that game finished without! either rushing off and starting a new project, or going into an emotional tale spin and having a panic about things. As to life and attitude, that is usually something that sorts itself out with time . He basically hasn't even lived yet. If he thinks his life is so shit right now, he'll have a rood ass awakening in a few years. Let's also not even touch on the fact that he gets insanely, almost comically triggered over the tiniest of things. If he's so insecure about what he did a few weeks ago that may or may not have pissed off a couple people but that most people probably don't even remember, he has a lot of work to do on himself and really shouldn't be developing games right now. He's already proven to us time and time again that he simply can not handle big projects, or well, projects full stop. Oh no, someone mentioned that there's a small error in my code that causes the health of the player to get randomly set to 69? God dam it I'm triggered, I'm learning to code, but I'm doing better, and I've done better, and I've fixed it, stop bringing up what I did in the past even though that past might as well be the present for all the difference it makes!Here's betting that Rory, Simter or one of his other little friends comes here and starts doing exactly what I illustrated above.
