Yes, the 320kb/s Linn stations sound better than Rhapsody at 192kb/s,
mostly in the high frequency extension and detail. But I'm not saying
the 192kb/s sounds bad - it is very nice sounding also.

Glad to hear no drop outs. A while back when I had it set up, there
were a bunch of stations, many in Eastern Europe, that advertised high
bit rates, but they never played without dropping out every few
seconds.

Thanks for the info, kh6idf. Can you tell the difference between the

I have a Squeezebox Classic. I'm using its digital out to play through
the DAC on an NAD C565BEE CD player.
I seem to recall a while back being told by Logitech that no matter how
high the bitrate on the internet radio station, the Classic will stream
at 192 kbps max.
I see now that Linn has
It should work. Have you tried it? The Squeezebox Classic can't
resample Mp3 to a lower bitrate, and there would be no reason to do so
on the player.

I don't have access to the Squeezebox for a couple of days, so I haven't
tried it yet. I was wondering if I have something to look forward to!
Also, I vaguely recall being told a while back that the bitrate
displayed on the Squeezebox might not be accurate at higher bit rates.
So I was
I just searched Shoutcast for '320' and saw some odd stations that had
'320kbps' in the name... chose one at random and it's playing.
No clue what it is, ETR.FM... but it works fine at 320kbps.

Thanks for checking! Assuming you're on a Squeezebox Classic or
something that would produce a similar result to the Classic, this is
great to hear.
Is the sound quality better?

Better than 128kbps? Yes.
Better than 192k? Hrm, probably, if I knew what the heck
Ok, thanks for the info!
