I tried playing a 24/96 free download from Gemmel, hoping that SOX would
downsample it - but it didn't. No audio output generated at all!
First I tried with the .wma file and get the error:

Couldn't create command line for wma

What version of SC are you running - it looks like you need a later
version of SOX. From memory you need SOX 14.2 or later.
I'm using SC 7.3.4 so I guess(?) it's got the latest SOX. How can I
check which version is installed (in Linux)?

Anyone tried musicgiants for downloads? They have some DRM free 24/96
and 24/88.2 downloads as well as 16/44.1 WMA selections. The 44.1
downloads have DRM applied but of course, there are ways around that.

I was wondering if the squeezebox has true digital outs. How does it
control gain/volume to the digital signal. I thought a digital signal
out was just pure information of 1's and 0's? But it seems to work as a
preamp as well on the digital side?
How does this work?
Thanks
