complication is often getting a good OpenGL context but VNC
usually does rendering on the server-side and simplifies this.

These messages show something is not right, and maybe is leading to
the hanging problems I have. Googling this error shows it seems to be
a code problem. The messages are harmless maybe, expect that they
swamp legitimate messages. Or is this some kind of build error?
