Follow-up Comment #33, bug #30559 (project avrdude): Hi, sorry for the delay, I can confirm that the patch as of comment #32 indeed resolved the main problem I was having with os x and bitbang with Arduino. Now the device responds correctly recognized etc. I haven't tested flashing something yet.
