I'm in a lack of words to congratulate and thanks Uli. I guess we all feel
something similar.
Thank you Uli!

I'm all in for titlebars as wiiboxes. It's the best solution in my opinion,
as it enables full customization of the titlebar. Current layouts fully
support the known widgets disposition in common WM's titlebars; widgets in
a wiibox also support mouse actions.

I'll pay more attention next time it happens, but I think I've seen
both scenarios.

You can still use Mod4 + Ctrl + C (default configuration) to close

I'm currently using Slim as desktop manager, but I'm not too fond of
it either. I'm accepting suggestions.
btw, could you paster your awesome XSession here? Maybe your distro
patches it somehow and that's causing the slowdown.

current window either.
Maybe you'll have to deal with udev and udev rules? Or evdev? Sorry,
can't think of anything to help properly.

Remember that awesome is just a window manager, not a full desktop
environment. Controlling input events is not its main purpose. As
you've tried, you could set some key bindings using Caps Lock, but
reading key states is a little off.

Use xev to inspect windows and create a rule for it, just like you'd
make for flash fullscreen windows.

What if you set the extern monitor as primary? I usually set my HDMI

Cool. Hopefully we can post widgets and scripts to make awesome yet
still more full featured.

It would be great if the run command widget also remembered the
current tag to spawn the next window there. Sometimes Firefox takes
some seconds to spawn, so I spawn it then go to another tag, just to
have it flood my other tag.

Set fullscreen wallpaper.
awsetbg -f wallpaper
You can try this on the terminal or on the run command widget, make
sure it works, then you can update your set bg variable on rc.lua.

Wow, that's cool. Too bad that the Kindle is not a full featured
tablet for us to play with.
But still a great ebook reader, e-ink is the best for this.

Alexander, the menu_gen.lua is generated by the menubar accordingly to
