This is one of the things I persoanlly hate on Gnome 3. At least the default
theme and spacing of everything makes it look a little bit childish.
Don't bash on me: I'm actually kind of hooked into the way it handles
workspaces and windows; I can't help but joyfully play with it when I'm
using my
IMHO, what we have _is_ visually consistent. Indicators should be opaque
over the panel, just like the icons on the unity launcher are opaque over
the transparent launcher.
I mean, I'm not saying this couldn't be an option; I'm all in for
customisation. I just don't think it should be priority...
Is this ubuntu has bad fonts really a thing? I mean, the Joe user can't
barely tell Times New Roman from Arial oO
I just found this curious, but I agree with everything, and we should focus
on polishing fonts and everything --- it's an aspect that makes the system
look slick and all. I just found

Wow, you're having a tough bug there. No solutions or hints, but I'm quite
positive trashcan can't be hardcoded to use PCManFM, that wouldn't make any
sense; I don't even have it installed, trash runs on nautilus just fine from
the launcher...

Go to CCSM, Unity Plugin ;)

Hey, I have an idea. Maybe this was discussed here before; if it was, I'm
sorry.
There was an ayatana thread here discussing a short-term solution for e-mail
in Ubuntu. One thing I particularly remember from it was something about
duplication of effort when it comes to shortcuts and how to access
Is this windicator thing still going on? How are things progressing on that
matter? (sorry for drifting away, I'm just very curious about it)

I think it's a cool idea, but I don't really think the banner would fit in a
control centre. It's supposed to be more a productivity-driven app rather
than a you'll-probably-like-this-too, marketing-and-beauty-oriented app.

There's already a file transfer indicator =) Adapting it to also show
downloads is a very good idea =D

I suspect the answer to these are much along the same lines as

Wow, those were pretty neat ideas! Software Centre shouldn't be rude to
people without an internet connection at the moment =)
But the thing about caching should be an opt-in thing, IMHO.
