Victoria Australia in the 1800's.
Many of the people from the Azores went hunting for gold in the gold rush
in Victoria Australia. I am a decendant of one.

Regarding the Sao Miguel passaportesI know that some of the missing
ones were NOT missing in the 1980s, when Bob De Mello did his passengers to
Hawaii book. He extracted passengers from the 1890s and that book is
missing. Also, Roberta Ingram sent me a link for passengers who left Sao
Cheri,
Looks like initially a few Whalers made their way there but not many.

This link states that in 2010 650 people in New Zealand claimed
Portuguese ancestry 195 of those were born in Portugal.

The attached comprises a couple of generations back (from Ana Joquina) and
forwad as shown.
I had a look at Ana's baptism record and it wasn't a lot of help.
