I think it says "He was the widower of approximately ten years (a Cerca de dez
annos) of Maria do Carmo Lazaro ..." but I can't make out the final 'squish'

One father is 'da Cunha Mariante', and the other 'de Mello Mariante', maybe
they connect way back, or the priest misheard one of the names and added
'Mariante' to one of them. Only by checking the grooms baptisms...

Thank you Angela. I think you are right that it may be a name in this case
because in looking around nearby records I don't see occupations given.
Perhaps the two fathers are related, but if there is a dispensation I
can't find it written.
