Ahem, it would be nice that a dozen or so people email the CCA and let them
know that the server is down. The CCA is on Terceira island. The server is on
Sao Miguel island. They don't always know when it's down. It's miles and miles
apart.
One person emails them.
I sent them an e-mail on the 14thincluding the thank you for providing
such a great service on which so many of us have come to rely. Thanks,
Cheri, for the information here.

Thanks! I hope many more of you email them before you go to bed tonight. At
times, they must think I'm the only person who uses it, as I'm always
reporting it. They need to know that we all use it and we really appreciate
and value it. Their government spent a lot of money on making it free for

Joao, is the CCA just down “”temporarily”? I have been trying to get on for a
couple days now. I may have missed something here on the list as I don’t
always have time to read.

João, thank you for your input. You are so right. The down time for CCA
should not make CCA so discredited. They are doing a great service. We are
living in a society where everyone is so impatient. Does it really matter
if you are unable to look something up for a day, or two? I also agree,
When you consider the costs of having a staff to answer inquires and look up
and copy records and collect fees for doing this the present method of having
the records on line where we can look and find what we need makes much more
sense. Another thing having the digital images saves the records

The "cloud" is not free... And while I do agree that on principle it would
