My maiden name is Peters, but my father's ancesters came from Candalaria Pico Azores and while there they had the name Pedro Faria Des Neves. When they came to this country they changed the name to Peters as there were too many people settled in the Sacramento area with Neves. Sorry not to be

Katherine, Perhaps Thomas Bettencourt is related to Urbano Bettencourt. Thomas was born in Piadade in 1867 and died in California USA in 1954. I'm trying to get a confirmation of some sort on his mother and father. I do have a picture of his father, but am unsure of his first name. no dates.
