Recently there was discussion about workers at sawmills which I
ignored. Then a woman from the Sonoma Historical Society sent me a
quote from my great uncle William(Bill) Borba. It looks to me by the
quote below that Joe Silva was likely Jennie's brother and lived in
Sebastopol. This opens up a new link for me...if this rings with
anyone please let me know.

"The Borba's came to the U.S./Providence RI in 1873-74. They were
Married there, Manuel and Jennie. They next went to Mendocino County to
Work in the sawmills there. Then to Alameda Co./Hayward. An uncle of
Bill's
Joe Silva came to Sebastopol before them. So the Manuel and Jennie Borba
Family came to Sebastopol in 1892 via the Northwestern Pacific Railroad.
They rented a home on Main Street, then built their own home on Florence
Avenue, which still stands."
This lineage starts with my Great Grandfather Manuel, then to my
Grandfather Harry, to my Father Dean...
