Hello Group,
In reading some of the archived posts, I have discovered that in 1975
Christmas Day was celebrated on January 6th in the Azores.Does
anyone know how long that practice continued?
The reason I ask is that there is a problem with my paternal
Grandfather's USA Marriage Record.
Ginger,
I'm not sure about the Christmas and Epiphany thing in the Azores (I know
what it is in Catholicism), but I know some people chose to celebrate their
birthday on their baptism date instead.

Ginger,
Christmas since the Gregorian Calendar change in 1582 has been celebrated on
December 25th up to now.
January 6th the Catholic Church celebrates Kings day which marks the day
of the Magi Kings arrived to pay homage to baby Jesus.
