Maybe you missed my earlier message. The documents would say if the person
was a "new Christian" or not. It sounds like you need the help of a
researcher that you can hire.

County where I live who changed their name from Rodrigues to Rogers who were

I have Henriques and Joseph in my Flores files. I recall that Joseph is
originally a Damiao surname. There is a family that settled in the
Pleasanton area around 1875.
Alameda is spelled Almeida in Flores.
