The Library of Congress has a huge selection of papers online from across
the country, and they are text searchable!

While I think these are all pretty much English language papers, they're

I just tried the new "newspapers" made available, and it just hung there.
I tried it in Chrome and it downloaded immediately.
It's only that site. Before I'd also try to save rather than open, and it
still would just sit there. I'll have to figure out why that site I have
problems with Firef

them and when I first saw it, they started to digitize A UniĆ£o Lusitana
