I'm not sure about the Christmas and Epiphany thing in the Azores (I know
what it is in Catholicism), but I know some people chose to celebrate their
birthday on their baptism date instead.

Christmas since the Gregorian Calendar change in 1582 has been celebrated on
December 25th up to now.
January 6th the Catholic Church celebrates Kings day which marks the day
of the Magi Kings arrived to pay homage to baby Jesus.

Epiphany: a Christian festival, observed on January 6, commemorating the
manifestation of Christ to the gentiles in the persons of the Magi; Twelfth-day.
For some cultures, epiphany is as important as our traditional Christmas Day.
