Hi Melody, Your Joao da Costa Loureiro (6820) is my 7th Great Grandfather. My Braz da Costa Loureiro is the brother of your Antonio da Costa Loureiro (6816). Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] Furtado/Pimentel, Achada--help with names on marriage record please
I'm afraid they do not link up, at least as far as the records go. It is interesting that a third brother, Manuel da Costa Loureiro, also used the name Columbreiro. I suspect that one of his grandparents are Columbreiro's, perhaps from Achada, where many early Columbreiro's settled. In fact I have Joao da Costa Columbreiro as native of Achada, resident of Maia. I found references to Joao Costa Loureiro in Ribeira Grande, where it appears he lived for a while and his spouse, Maria Vultoa or Benevides, sometimes used the name Benevides. Unfortunately, I cannot find my notes!! JR On Sunday, June 1, 2014 5:38:40 AM UTC-4, Richard Francis Pimentel wrote: *Hi Melody,* *Your Joao da Costa Loureiro (6820) is my 7th Great Grandfather. Hello and thank you for responding, yes, I am referring to Lagoa, Sao Miguel, Nossa Senhora do Rosario. I will be visiting there this Sept. I have found records of Pacheco family who have been buried public cemetery in that parish. The burials would have been late 1800s. What happened to the exhumed? At least we'll be able to visit Nossa Senhora do Rosario and Lagos. Wow, Antonio. You will love the upgrades since version 5.It's also more stable on the newer computers.I've been using v7 all day today and there are only minor changes I have noticed from version 6. I think the main improvement is at the background level, the code, which makes it stable. It probably became an issue because of the newer operating systems like the new Windows. The creator of the program is also great to deal with. He always listens to suggestions and helps with any problems. And I believe the biggest strength was at the beginning when people from many languages could use it in their own language. Maybe that's what you are doing. I used to have a German version, but don't bother with that anymore.I started with PAF the first few years and didn't like the lack of accents back then. I just got it installed and it seems to look exactly like the older version - just as good as ever. Re: [AZORES-Genealogy] José Coelho de Serpa e Verissima Joaquina
Which time period in Vila Franca is missing? The only one that appears to be missing is 1663-1669 in VFSM. Is this the period you are referring to? It's also more stable on the newer computers.I've been using v7 all day today and there are only minor changes I have noticed from version 6. I used to have a German version, but don't bother with that anymore. I started with PAF the first few years and didn't like the lack of accents back then.
